The trade for Cutler was decent and Cutler has been consistent when given an offense to work with.

I don't like the deal, but it don't like the alternative of letting him walk either. Do you trust McKown enough to sign him to a dal- he is 34 and a stop gap at best, IMO. The Bears were victims of circumstance, IMO.

In terms of QBR or whatever the ranking ESPN uses nowadays (From Numbers Never Lie), Cutler has been average among all the QBs in the league. I think they are paying him in the neighborhood of 17.5 million/year which is ridiculous if true.

Personally, I love it as a Packers Fan as I think it helps solidify our position as the top team in the league even more.

Huh? According to the QBR this year Cutler has been a top 10 QB which is better than average. Their new coach this year is very good with QB's, and Cutler played very well this year. His problem is though staying healthy.

I'll have to rewatch it then because I thought he was better than that as well but Numbers Never Lie were discussing the new Cutler deal and whether it was a good one and they pulled out a stat (I thought it was QBR) and said he was only ranked like 17 out of 31 in terms of the QBs that qualified. I'll rewatch it and clarify my previous statement.

Was you watching it on ESPN within the last hour? His QBR during his whole time in Chicago was average, however his QBR this year was in the top 10. Which you have to take into account the fact that now that he has a WR opposite of Marshall, and an offensive minded coach and he showed how much better he was this year with that. So with these things in place, he did very well this year. However if he can't stay healthy then none of it will matter haha.

Yeah thats when I watched it. Good catch then that the rating was for his entire time in Chicago and doesn't completely reflect what he has done as of late. Still feel its a bit of a bad deal but I can at least accept the deal a little more.

Statistically, he's pretty good, but I'm talking from the standpoint of a guy who will get you to the Super Bowl and have a chance to win a championship. Most of his career, he has been a guy who has mental breakdowns in crucial situations, the one exception would be 2010 when they were in the NFC Championship and that was an injury problem.

Considering they are not in a good spot to draft a QB this year, its the best they could do.

So in summary Cutler = Dalton. Sounds about right to me.

They'd get more for their money if they gave Alan Cutler a 7-year deal. Unbelievable.

I agree with you there, I just think committing to this guy for 7 years is a little over the top.

Depends whats the guaranteed portion of the contract.
