Wow, RM, I had no idea you had suffered that much loss this year. I certainly hope your 2014 brings you much happiness and no personal tragedy.

I love the slip of paper each day idea. That sounds very intriguing to me.

I have seen that money challenge and it made me wonder if it would be easier to just deposit $27 per week. The same amount each week seems like it would be easier to budget for and commit to. I guess the idea with the increasing amount is that it is easy in the beginning with only a few dollars, but in the latter part of the year, when the amount is in the $40's and $50's it might get too hard.

Either way, good luck with it and keep us posted on how it is going.

I actually plan to deposit one of the bigger payments each month, saving some of the smaller payments for later in the year. In my head I know it's not about making sense. I'm looking for the self-discipline aspect from it. I've become very undisciplined.

To my sister from another mister from your brother from another mother...

 Thank you!

I'm subscribing to the "help others be better and you'll be rewarded" philosophy.

My daily goal is to make someone feel better about themselves.

I'm also going to quit talking about doing things and actually doing them. I've been talking for years about starting a scholarship at my alma mater. Doing it this year in the name of a friend.

Kids are all older (baby boy just turned 21) - I've got time to help others.

Annndddd now...I'll be moving to the country, so I'll be able to save even more money on food! Not gas, but...

I'm not big into New Year's Resolutions, but 2014 is (hopefully) pay the house off year for the Parkers & then stay out of debt forever & ever amen.

Keep the weight I lost off and keep exercising.

Spend more time on my part time business.

Resolutions:

Reduce debt. I bought a truck last year and have a note again, and the goal is to pay it down quickly.

Maintain my weight...I lost between 15 and 20 pounds last year, which gets me right where I want to be. I just want to keep it here now....I splurged during the holidays.

Keep a positive attitude and think of others first.

Spend more time on my part time business.

Will that make it full-time? :jump:

Can't, that is why it is part time. I have one of those J.O.B.S. too.

Real simple for me. Eat healthier.

Menier's Disease has made a spectacular comeback in the last couple of months. GOT to watch the salt, caffeine, etc. and not backslide.

I have a friend that has that....really throws him for loop. Good luck and good health!
