Report it to the KHSAA?what are you some kind of snitch?I was just stating FACTS that I know went on.I'm not trying to throw people under the bus to prove a point that don't really consern me anyway,I'm just not so ignorant to think that free $8.000 tuition isn't recruiting.IT IS !!! :thumb: :thumb:
Rule 4. No school-specific recruiting comments or allegations of KHSAA rules violations by any school, coach, or player are allowed. No talking about where any player lives, has lived, or where they are from in a recruiting context. This is not the place to report KHSAA violations. Feel free to contact http://www.khsaa.org to report such violations, but do not discuss violations here.

If you don't have the guts to report cheating, then don't bother mentioning it, it only hurts your credibilty.

Furthermore the $8,000 in tuition assistance wouldn't be recruiting if the school didn't seek out the student.

This just came to mind with all these discussions....

I have a buddy that went to Trinity. He comes a family that has sent over 10 immediate family members to Trinity. He now has a son that has graduated from Trinity and has another son that is in public grade school....so here is my question?

With these new rules the son that is in public grade school (and continues to attend the public school until 8th grade) can not attend Trinity and participate any sport until Junior year? If this is the case it is the biggest bunch of crap I have ever seen in my life.

True that is why families will have to decide what high school in Sixth grade if they are going to switch from the Dark Side to the Bright Side or vice-versa.

It can be like Star Wars.

Also, a reason why I am not wondering if Prop 20 is the only reasonable solution to the problem and why I started the other thread asking this.

The situation of TD's is unfair to that family.

What if the kid has a learning problem and needs to be in a specific school. What if the parents can't afford a catholic grade school and high school so they have opted to save money for the 4 years at Trinity.

You know what's even more of joke.....is this kid will not make much of an impact on ANY sport because he is not the most athletic kid in the world.

Again Tony, it depends on whether we end up with the private version or the public version. Under the private version if he lives within 20 miles of Trinity, all is okay. If we end up with the public version, tough luck.

Carry it a step farther. Most Catholic grade schools are not well equipped to handle kids with learning problems. A public school might be the best choice. Trinity is one of the best (maybe THE best) equipped school in Louisville to handle a kid with learning difficulties. Again, if the private proposal is accepted the kid is okay. If the public proposal makes it through, tough luck.

but remember, the public side wants what's best for all students in Kentucky

I would HOPE that some sort of waiver process would be in place for educational issues, financial hardships or relocation.

Won't that open up another can of dog poo-poo?

To make the implication that we can have a system that is fair to all kids is unrealistic and tends to be throwing gas on the fire.

The system in place now is unfair to a set of kids. The public compromise would be unfair to a set of kids. The private compromise would be unfair to a set of kids.

Would you have a problem if the coaches of that public school decided to cut that player because they did not want to spend time developing the player they know will not be in their HS system while another kid who might have been was cut?

That's what I contend is the ulterior motive behind the public school compromise proposals being so much more harsh and iron clad then the one sthe privates have submitted.

I really believe that some of the public school proponents (Wilson Sears at number 1) feel that some of the stipulations they are proposing will ultimately be rules illegal for the public schools to enforce and will be thrown out for the public schools.

If not then why has Sears made such a tremendous turn from his stance on the issue of ineligibility since the infamous TV debate?
