Trinity won their first round game in the Kingdom of the Sun Tournament at Ocala, Florida 70-56. No stats were available. MaxPreps was my source.

Heard the Shamrocks were up 36-9 at half.

What state is Spruce Creek from?

I'm not 100% sure but I think from Florida.

They are from Port Charles FL. Trinity's next opponent is Berkeley Prep from Tampa.

From Ocala:

Louisville (Ky.) Trinity High School got off to a great start in the 40th annual Kingdom of the Sun boys basketball tournament Friday morning.

The Shamrocks (7-1) built a 27-point halftime lead and rolled to a 70-56 win over Port Orange Spruce Creek at Vanguard High School.

Trinity forced more turnovers (13) than points allowed (nine) during the first half and cruised to the win.

Craig Owens was perfect for the Shamrocks with all five of his field goals and all eight of his foul shots going down, on his way to an 18-point effort.

Raymond Spalding, a 6-foot-10 junior, added 14 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks for the Shamrocks, who held Spruce Creek to a 4-of-17 shooting effort in the first half.

Michael Stafford and Christian Thieneman (10 points, six rebounds) backed the effort for Trinity.

Keyshawn Johnson made six shots from beyond the arc in the second half and led Spruce Creek with 18 points. Kyle Clarke (11 points, 5-of-17 shooting) and Cornelius Head (11 points, six assists) also scored in double figures for the Hawks (11-4), ranked seventh in Class 8A.

For the game, Spruce Creek made 10-of-21 from 3-point range, aided by a 9-of-17 effort after halftime.

The Shamrocks, though, held a 39-27 edge on the boards and outscored the Hawks 21-4 at the foul line.

Trinity is seeking to become the second straight team from Kentucky to win the Kingdom and the fourth overall.

So far this season, the Shamrocks' lone loss came against last year's Kingdom winner Louisville Ballard in the finals of the King of the Bluegrass Tournament by nine points.

They are from Port Charles FL. Trinity's next opponent is Berkeley Prep from Tampa.

I believe Berkeley Prep is one of the better teams in Tampa this year.

They are ranked number one in Florida's 5A.

Owens has been putting up higher than average numbers last couple games and making some perimeter shots.

Looks like Spalding is OK from the big collision the other day which is good for T also.

Yes, Rocks were up 36-9 at half. Led 20-5 after 1Q. At end of 3Q it was 59-35. By then almost everybody was playing for the Rocks and Spruce Creek but the SC subs started hitting a bunch of threes in the 3rd, then cooled off, then heated up again closing to the final of 70-56. I think only one or two Trinity starters were in there for the fourth quarter. Both sides showed a lot of sportsmanship. I am watching the Kingdom of the Sun games on the NFHS network, the one for the National Federation of High School Sports Associations. It's pay-per-view but games are archived for a month & the cost of watching them all is cheap. I have no stock in or nephews working for NFHS. I wish we had these guys in Kentucky.
