My plane landed at 7:30 so didn't make it. I would appreciate details. About what was expected, though.

Bolden 18 pts.

Heard Hill and mcclendon both looked really good.

Holmes talent overwhelming.

Corey Albertson said Bolden had 18 but had a rough night shooting.

Bulldogs showed a nice inside game tonight. Bolden only played about two and half quarters. Same for Chames.

Heard Chames got in foul trouble.

Also heard Ethan Snapp had a good game for Newport.

Game was very close after one, I think Holmes had a two point lead, Snapp, a very very good player and will be one of the best in his class his senior year, Hill and Mclendon played very good for Holmes, it seems Holmes finally just wore Newport down, this may be the deepest Holmes team in years, they come at you in waves, Bolden has had better games, but he still had 18 and Chames got two quick fouls, Housley shot the ball well tonight, Newport just could not match bench players, I thought Newport played extremely hard and Coach Snapp works hard, just to much talent for the dogs.

Chames picked up his 2nd foul with about 2 minutes to go in the first quarter. Think he sat out the rest of the first half. Believe Hill had 12 points in first half. Holmes led 22-20 after first quarter and 40-26 at halftime, as I recall. Pushed the lead to about 30 with about 3 minutes to go in third period. Yes, Snapp had a nice game for the Wildcats.

13 pts, 8 rbs on 6-6 FG and 1-3 FT for Hill tonight to go along with a nice dunk in traffic.

Had 5 pts, 11 rbs v Ballard. He will be a huge key for Holmes success this year.

But yet he didn't make NKYFan's top 50 list...............

15 pts for Housely

11 pts for McClendon

The game was close for about a quarter and a half.

Newport was able to hang around until Holmes turned up the pressure with some trapping all over the floor and forcing some turnovers and quick shots.

Snapp probably got half of his scoring in the first quarter and will be a nice little player once he gets a little thicker but he has a nice all around game.

I'm not sure what Bolden's shooting numbers were but he did not take a lot of shots. In the first half Newport pretty much ran doubles at him in the half court and he found Hill or Chames in the paint who scored easily. I would imagine we will see a lot of that but Holmes shot the ball decently from the perimeter, but really didn't take a lot of threes.

McClendon is quick and ran some point tonight.

Once they got Newport rushing shots and turning it over, it was pretty much over.

Holmes that good or Newport down this year?

Combination. For those who didn't see Holmes against Ballard, you'll eventually see that they are REALLY TOUGH to defend because of their quickness.

Walter's answer was spot on. Holmes is that good this year. They are deep and do not let up. They can score from all over the place. Snapp looks to be Newport's only scorer. The other four starters are gritty and will fight for a while, but they cannot afford to go the bench at all yet. Which is why the game was so close after one quarter. Every sub for Newport cost them a couple points and Holmes was in a nice rotation without giving up anything the whole game.

Will Newport be a winning team this year? I am trying to get a feel for how good they will be.
