All-A teams floundering

Featured Replies

The wheels have fallen off at Bardstown since winning the All-A, losing 3 of 4, including a loss to .500 rival Nelson County, getting blown out by Central Hardin, and then a 14 point loss last night to an average Marion County team.

Bishop Brossart has lost 4 in a row since the All-A.

Any other teams floundering down the stretch?

Mayfield has also lost three of four since Richmond.

Coincidence or is it due to fatigue?

I think this is one of the reasons why Russellville opted not to play in the All-A for many years.

Fairview is struggling right now.

Fatigue partly, and also partly because of the build-up emphasis put on the tournament, so it is natural for a letdown to occur. Traditionally, Somerset gets themselves very geared up for the All-A in both boys and girls, and they traditionally make deep runs. Also traditionally, the week after the All-A they do not play well. Sometimes it extends through the rest of the season (see last season as an example with SHS' boys).

NewCath upset Holmes just last night :ylsuper:

Well, there's always exceptions. ;)

Fairview willl pull through districts.. :thumb:

I think Lee County is still playing good basketball. They beat a good Estill County team at home before brushing off Breathitt and then just falling short of knocking off a very well playing Montgomery team at home.

With a couple away games that should be cupcake games --- and then, what is sure to be a great game with LCA on senior night...I think the Bobcats are going to play well into a region title.

Somerset lost to South Laurel, and beat Wayne County.

And struggled with a dysfunctional Pulaski Co. team they should've beat by 25. Beating Wayne Co = not that impressive.

Around these parts they are called the "post Class-A blahs". I've seen it happen to girls and boys teams. In most cases they are cured before District Tournament time.

How can teams be using the fatigue excuse almost 2 weeks later?

Give me a break
