How can teams be using the fatigue excuse almost 2 weeks later?

Give me a break

Bardstown's is rumored to be pure lack of focus and too much screwing around at school.

Just throwing it out there, not everyone has energy like Tony Little. I'm sure most of these kids have their sights on the "AA", and I'm sure they may be a bit spent after the tournament is finally over.

Fatigue partly, and also partly because of the build-up emphasis put on the tournament, so it is natural for a letdown to occur. Traditionally, Somerset gets themselves very geared up for the All-A in both boys and girls, and they traditionally make deep runs. Also traditionally, the week after the All-A they do not play well. Sometimes it extends through the rest of the season (see last season as an example with SHS' boys).

You might have hit the nail on the head Jim; most of the All A contenders really gear up for this tourney, and seem to be suffering from a serious mid/late season hangover!!

You can't expect teams who have used so much emotional energy preparing and playing in the ALL A state tournament to be able bounce back and play well. It is a huge expereince and one that often can elevate a team, but also deflate them. Players have only so much emotion and then it is gone! Bardstwon has had an awesome run the last few years. I hope they have one more runleft in them this year. But it is tough....
