I have often wondered why Florida skipped over Strong so many times while he was at Florida? Do they demand someone with head coaching experience?

Some NFL name coming out of the broadcast booth. They need someone who has the kind of resume that will give the fan base a reason to think twice before criticizing them too harshly during their first season.

IIRC, Strong was their interim coach for a bowl game. Know that isn't really what you were going for with your comment, but it was something I didn't know/remember until last week or so.
