I think today's loss has sealed Muschamp's fate. If I'm not mistaken, Foley has Zook, Meyer, and Muschamp on his resume as hires. I would think that, given the importance Florida places on football, he's going to try to knock the next hire out of the park by getting a huge name or he may feel his own seat getting hot.

The goodwill Foley had from hiring Donovan (and keeping him there) and Meyer's accomplishments are getting older and older in the mind of Gator fans, who can't be happy after today. Compounding this is the success that Florida State is having.

If there are good options who are realistic names that Florida may look at who are missing from the poll, let me know and I'll add them as an option.

Does James Franklin at Vandy deserve a look? Offensive Coach that is getting it done at Vandy...Vandy of all places...I think he's gone after this season, should the Gators go after him?

I got 50 texts from my Gator friends and family, after today's game, lamenting Muschamp. My son calls him mustgo.

Foley never had enough goodwill from his Donovan hire, to ever shield him from Zook, and now Muschamp. Meyer saved his bacon, last time.

Agree. I think they go after a former NFL name. Foley is in "Mitch Barnhart after hiring Billy Gillispie" territory and I see no way they don't go for a home run.

Who would be the Home Run Hire?

I mean he's not getting Saban or Miles...Urban Meyers' not walking through that door...who would be a Home Run for Florida?

Jon Gruden. Tony Dungy.

Some NFL name coming out of the broadcast booth. They need someone who has the kind of resume that will give the fan base a reason to think twice before criticizing them too harshly during their first season.

Briles may get the first call

I think he gets a call, but if he's leaving Baylor, I'm going to say it will be for the Texas job. Maybe if Texas goes in another direction, then he's a possibility, but I think there's a few things that need to happen before he's a serious candidate to actually get hired.

I do agree that they make the call and put out a feeler though.

That's a lot of bank, I know Florida has it but you got to figure at least 6 million for the Assistants that a coach like that would pull in. Bama's Asst Coaches make around $5.6 Million a year, Florida would be out at least that much hiring asst coaches that Gruden or Dungy would want. FWIW I'd love to see Chucky back on the sidelines!

I hear Lane Kiffin is looking for work.

Ed Oregron or Jack Del Rio, one of the two, will be the next USC head coach. I don't see Jack Del Rio going to Florida if he doesn't get the USC job though.

Ed Oregron is more of a possibility, but still somewhat of a long shot though.

Bobby Petrino??? Could Florida be that desperate???

Bobby Petrino??? Could Florida be that desperate???

I thought I heard that he was maybe on double secret probation in the SEC and SEC schools wouldn't touch him.

Art Briles or Jon Gruden.
