Still A Shot For An All-Louisville 6A Final

Featured Replies

Anyone think it ends up being Butler and Male playing for the championship?

That would be interesting.

When is the last time St. X or Trinity hasnt played for the title?

1998; Male beat Tates Creek in the 4A Championship.

Yes, the likelihood of this match up would not surprise me. Meade vs. Scott Co, would shock me!

That would be very amusing.

The amusing part would be 2 teams 15 minutes apart driving 2 hours to play in front of nobody. I predict the 2013 Championship games will be the least attended championships ever thanks to the KY State Legislature.

I remember when the 4A Championship was the 'State Champion' vs. 'Jefferson County Champion'.

But some said that that setup unduly guaranteed a Louisville team a spot so they changed the setup.

There has since been a lot more Louisville-Louisville finals than State-State finals.

There would only be 50 Butler fans there if they played it at Butler's home field.

The 5A championship on Saturday will be very well attended and you have to help me out here, as much as I love bashing politicians for just about anything what does the legislature have to do with attendance at the 2013 championships?

I remember very well when that change was made. A coach (I believe from Nelson County) who favored the change was asked about the possibility that 2 Louisville schools could play for the championship. His answer was that the schools from outside of Jeff Co. would have to do their jobs and make sure it didn't happen.

Serious question. Since the inception has there been 2 non-Jeff Co. teams to play for the championship? I'll have to look that up.

Looked it up: it has only happened twice. in 1996 Nelson Co. beat Dunbar and in 1987 Shelby Co. beat Boone for the 4A championship.

1998; Male beat Tates Creek in the 4A Championship.

How long has it been since Trinity or St. X has not been involved in the semifinals?
