I heard today that he no longer lists himself as a Michigan commit on his Twitter account.

 

Thanks for breaking that one Clyde. No comments on this topic for over two months and now it's here after you gave us the scoop.

 

For selfish reasons (I'm an alum), I hope he's in UK blue & white and his Mom gets to see him play every Saturday after making the short drive from Richmond/Berea to Lexington.

 

However, in the end, I hope the kid does what's best for himself first and foremost, whether it's donning opposing colors and beating UK or not. It's his decision.

Over the years UK has had some very good running backs from Kentucky high schools (Collins, Homer. Adams, et al.). But not recently IMO. Who has been the last superior RB for the Cats? I think the only RB currently in the NFL is Alphonso Smith (played at Waggener HS and didn't exactly light it up at UK). Maybe this kid can do it.

 

I don't think Alphonso Smith was as highly rated as Damian Harris, but I could be wrong.

UM fired OC Al Borges today. His mom said Damien was closest to Coach Borges of all of the UM staff.

Rafeal Little & Derrick Locke were both very good, but neither were from KY. Like you, I'm having a difficult time coming up with the last good homegrown RB.

Might have to back to Higgs in the 80s.

Although he didn't necessarily light it up in college or the NFL Arliss Beach had a few years in the pros. I think UK packed to much muscle on his frame which took his speed and agility away.

I think UK has a great shot at Damien.

Artose Pinner had a nice career at UK. I think he graduated in 2002.

Don't believe everything you read about this. The OC fits much better to his style at UM then Borges did. Was a relationship there but it wasn't necessarily with the Harris family....

Yeah, you're probably right. I don't anything about UK football.

It would be nice to get Harris to go to UK but there plenty of good backs to get. UK will have to be smart on their choices and a good QB is way more important. You need 3 decent rb's to compete in the SEC. It would be great if he stayed in the state and went to UK but if he goes.... enjoy freezing up in Ann Arbor and playing in the mediocre Big 10.
