Quotes of Randle on the game: Teammate Julius Randle sounded much more eager to play in the first No. 1-versus-No. 2 game in five years. "I love competition' date='" he said. "Type of stuff we live for," Randle said of Tuesday's game. "Bring it on." Randle dismissed the prevailing notion — espoused by UK Coach John Calipari among others — that the game pits Michigan State's experience and maturity against the latest edition of the Kiddie Cats. "I'm not buying into it," he said. "We play the same game. ... People think we're inexperienced (and) we're young. They don't know what to expect from us in that game. And I look at that as a way to show we are ready. ... That game is going to be a big challenge for us, but I think guys are going to step up." What's funny is all of the crap we heard on the recruiting trail before Randle signed with UK about how the Harrisons and him didn't get along. Yet I think those 3 are exactly what a team like this needs , very serious about the task at hand and ready to go to war.

Aaron has looked solid, but I love how Andrew handles himself on the floor. He can get to the rim so well. Needs to work on finishing & guys need to be able to actually catch his passes & convert, but I love how he plays. 3.5 to 1 assist-to-turnover ratio isn't too shabby either.

Are you referring to the pass that hit Marcus Lee on the tip of his nose?

Seth Greenberg said something on ESPN...that if Michigan State doesn't make the Final Four this year, then Appling & Payne will be the first seniors in the Tom Izzo era to never participate in a Final Four.

Speaks to the quality of Tom Izzo.

That was one of them. :lol2:

WCS had trouble with a couple as well, maybe one in each game.

Speaks to the quality of Tom Izzo.

Agreed. He's one of the best.

Marcus Lee had to be seeing stars.

I think Harrison is one of the better in the lane passers that I have seen at UK. Very adept at getting in the paint and finding a teammate.

This explains a lot why I'm looking forward to this game. Sparty has always been one of my favorite teams under Izzo.

Additionally, there aren't any obnoxious Michigan State fans that I'll have to start hating once the game is over, ala Grizzly/PP92 with Duke, Getslow/Deuce with UL.

I have a lot more confidence after watching the game yesterday' date=' but they're still miles away from what they can be. I'm not sure how good they really are early on, but they've showed some flashes of what makes them scary. Tomorrow's going to be fun no matter what because at least it will be a good measuring stick. If they come out and play with a veteran team like Sparty, sky's the limit for what they can do in March. Another thing that gets over looked is the big game factor. Even last year they gave Duke all they could handle, Louisville as well. When they needed wins against Mizzou (gameday) and Florida they got them. That team wasn't even in the same universe as this team, but they still got a lot out of their talent when it was a big game. I'm hoping they have just been looking ahead and come out with a totally different focus against Mich. St. If that happens and they come out hyped for an entire game they have the talent to do something.[/quote']

Good point and very true!

Agreed. He's one of the best.

I really like the guy. For that matter I like Coach K, I think he whines too much but I personally am a fan. Bill Self on the other hand, I'm not so sure how I feel.

He is, but I hope Cal gets him to just shoot sometimes when he gets into the lane.

Why wait until after the game is over, just hate them now.

K's the best in the business IMO, but I wouldn't say I like him. Same is true for Self. Izzo is different for me. He's one of the best & I really like him.

Free throw shooting was very good yesterday until Willis missed a few. I don't think that's going to be an ongoing issue.

You can get MSU plus 2.5 if you want them.

I hope that you are right.

From what I'm seeing on Twitter, Michigan State is now a 3.5 point favorite.

Here is my 1 cent (not good enough for 2) on those, Izzo is one of my favorites, love how hard his teams play, defend and rebound. Coach K, no doubt one of if not the best, can't stand his whining, intimidating officials. Bill Self - really like him, much the same reasons as Izzo, he is a great coach and class act.
