November 7, 201312 yr My commute in 29 years of employment was never more than 8 minutes. Married 35 years last month. Congrats on both! :lol2:
November 7, 201312 yr Lots of threads relating to divorce on here recently...Someone in the midst of one or something?
November 7, 201312 yr Lots of threads relating to divorce on here recently...Someone in the midst of one or something? Apparently, we have a bunch of guys that are single and want the rest of us to join. At this rate, I should be divorced because I drive too far to the wrong type of job. Hell, those may be my best two attributes.
November 7, 201312 yr I don't see how that commute doesn't drive you insane. I would move to New Albany or something just to try to shorten that commute. By a whole 20 minutes? I think the 20 minute sacrifice is worth it.
November 7, 201312 yr You get used to it and enjoy it sometimes, I just had that mine is due to traffic. If I was driving the whole time it would be more enjoyable. You are so right. I've grown to really enjoy it most days. I actually have become more productive as a result of the drive. A ton of what I do in my job is try to find solutions for technical challenges or improving processes. The drive gives me a solid block of time to think these through as well as cross reference them against scenarios that could cause my solutions to fail. Thus, when I'm ready to present the issue I've identified, my solution that I have developed is complete, with fewer hiccups in implementation.

November 7, 201312 yr By a whole 20 minutes? I think the 20 minute sacrifice is worth it. Well, that's 40 minutes a day!!!! Actually, I was assuming you would save more time with morning traffic but you probably leave at the crack of dawn and beat that traffic. To save any serious time I guess you would have to live in Palmyra or Paoli.

In the evening though, it's usually right at 2 hours because of Spaghetti Junction traffic. I'll be thrilled when the noodles are all untangled.

November 7, 201312 yr Right after we get that bridge that has been talked about since..........the 70's I think? Actually, the work to straighten it out is already happening in earnest. The lanes for 64E/71N from have been shifted to the right a bit, and you can see the new supports for a new raised road/lane/entrance ramp/something another along the right side of that area. They'v begun work in the area between were I-64 E is merging from I-65N/S meets up with I-64E just at the current I-71 split.
November 8, 201312 yr My commute is 11 minutes each way and my relationships just end... But I guess I can attribute this study to my recent breakup. My house to Lexington was right at an hour. Took 3 weeks for that to end.
