katbird Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 Great job Birds!! :ylsuper: JV Birds remain undefeated!!!:thumb:
FTBIGBIRD Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 Apparently the White hat didn't get the memo from KHSAA to get off the field right after the game. He chose to stay and get in a shouting match with an HHS assistant coach. That was sad. These guys are paid professionals and need to act like it. Especially the White hat! He actually began to walk back onto the field to run his mouth. Luckily for him the side judges and umpire grabbed him and told him to shut up. Some people just don't get it.

Poor effort if the officials didn't bolt as soon as the game ended. No good came come from staying on the field.
Clyde Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 By the way, what is this "JV" concept you guys mention?
katbird Posted October 26, 2013 Author Posted October 26, 2013 Heard from someone at the game that the Elder players were getting a little chippy towards the end of the game. Is this why the Birds assistant and the white hat were having words?
FTBIGBIRD Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 Hergott, Kendall, Daugherty, and Whitford are studs. Defense was impressive. If anyone was worried, Birds future is pretty bright. I can't get over how physical Nick Kendall has gotten. He rarely would be stopped by the first hit, or second, or third. I want to go see them play again!
FTBIGBIRD Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 Heard from someone at the game that the Elder players were getting a little chippy towards the end of the game. Is this why the Birds assistant and the white hat were having words? No. White hat gave Elder a warning on a holding call but threw the flag on HHS the first hold he saw. Coach felt that Ref wasn't consistent in his calls. Ref got mad and appeared to allow the constant badgering from the coach the rest of the game to dictate his officiating. I think he should have let it go. Ref waited till the end of the game to talk to him which was a mistake. He should have just left and said nothing. Like some of us on here, we allow certain posters to bait us and the ref took the bait.

I heard the guy with the down marker told him enough or was it the guy working the box?
Sweeperboy Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 I saw most of the game and yes the Birds were impressive to say the least. The future is bright for those that are questioning or worrying. Austin Hergott is getting better and better each week and has a bright very near future...:thumb: On the ref, why do I always miss all the fun...
ThrillVille Cardinal51 Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Glad to see HHS get a JV game this week. Congrats on the win!
FTBIGBIRD Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I heard the guy with the down marker told him enough or was it the guy working the box? None of the chain people did anything wrong. If anything, they were merely assisting the ref in the exit to his vehicle as per KHSAA requirements. I truly think they saved him from making the mistake of walking back onto the field as he was trying to do.
Sweeperboy Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Add that "White Hat" to the scratch list...LOL Highlands already parted ways with a very "well known" referee at the Varsity level and now it looks like he has new company...:thumb:

Who initiated the shouting match after the game? Did the ref go over to the coach once the game was over or did the coach say something to the ref?
BigDP Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Is there a scoring summary of the game? I heard the younger Miller (Erik) had a good game, a wide receiver? I believe his older brother played football, basketball, baseball and golf at NCC a few years ago.
