No way Dudley goes to Whitley, I could see him returning to high school but not at Whitley.

It's his if he wants it...Question is, does he want to leave the college ranks or not.

LCC not pleased at all with coach or the season.....

Thats 2 hall of fame coaches in a row they aren't happy with. I wonder if maybe, just maybe, its not the coaches fault.

Letcher Central has to give the coaches more than just a season to get things turned around....They had 4 wins this season. That's more than last year...If Letcher Central does get rid of Holcomb, where would he go?

Oldham job not posted anywhere, but brown has officially resigned.

Valley was open but word was that the middle school coach from farnsley was hired to pull that whole team to valley. Valley is no longer open online.

Whitley county

Logan county

Valley can pull all they want from Farnsley, that does not mean success at the Varsity level.

Why would the kids at Farnsley who have the opportunity to go to Manual, Butler, Trinity, X, PRP, or any other school choose to go to Valley?! To think that kids in a JCPS school will follow a middle school coach is absolutely ridiculous. Kids go where they want or where their parents want as I should say. Coaching middle school football and coaching high school are completely different, different mentalities, physical traits, and we all know that how hard you hit the track and weight room in high school determines your success.

I don't disagree, but many of those kids can't/don't get into Bulter, Manual, Central, Male...they do have to qualify academically. But those that can most certainly are more likely. I agree that a middle school coach that is successful may not be successful at the high school level, but they certainly can. Also keep in mind, that in Louisville, relationships do matter. You convince momma that her son will be more successful in the classroom and on the feild and if junior wants to go there...they will. Plus, if the parents know you will take care of their boy, that goes a LONG way.

I do not disagree with either of you all.. I'm curious why more jobs aren't open... What school is going to start the domino effect?

It seems like most AD's/Coaches don't usually pull the trigger until after the state championship games. Always kind of works out that way.

What happened to Graham.... State runner up a few years ago and what...... Slowly stopped winning because of rebuild?? I also saw on the website Jr high team won state? Clarify.?

They weren't a state runner up under Graham. They won state in 09 under Rains and have slowly went downhill ever since. I would say from 14-1 in '09 to 1-10 in '13 did it.

2010 graham lost in the 4th round... I mistaken that for rain's tenure..... 4th round is not bad, but 1-10 is...um..... :ohbrother:

Here is the progression

2010 4th round (top 3 classes had played for Rains)

2011 3rd round

2012 2nd round

2013 1st round (all kids who played for Rains were gone)

Rains has Dunbar on the up and up... Must be a heck of a coach. Don't know him personally, what did graham do wrong?

Just don't think Ray was a good fit. Great guy but just bad fit.
