Who wins and why?

This is the NKYSports.com Game of the week. Watch live or on demand at nkysports.com under the webcasts link.

Bellevue has shown it can score. Now the question is can they score enough ......on the road.....in possible muddy conditions. Ludlow is tough at home and has certainly been a new team since getting healthy. And a home playoff game is at stake. Should be a good one might have to see what the weather is on Friday to pick a winner.

Bellevue 27-13.

Ludlow 26 Bellevue 22

Bellevue all the way! I just wanna get some noise in this thread to bring in Futurecoach so we can have a good debate.

Beechwood held bellevue high octane offense to 22 points so you think ludlow defense is as good as beechwood?

Ludlow doesn't have to be good as Beechwood. They only have to be good enough to win.

But I picking Bellevue by 3 TD's!

Tigers should roll in this one.

Here are some interesting facts provided to the Bellevue High School Facebook site by longtime Tiger Coach Mike Swauger.

This Friday, October 18th will be the 97th game played between the two schools.

The first game played was 1925 with Bellevue winning 13-0.

The two schools have played continuously since 1935 (79 straight years) This is the 89th game in a row due to the fact of some years' playing more than once.

In the early 1930's, Bellevue and Ludlow were members of the Little "5" (along with Dayton, Highlands, and Lloyd) In 1935 Crescent Springs (now Dixie) was added and the league became known as the Little "6". In 1940 with the addition of Beechwood, Simon Kenton and Campbell County the league changed its name to the Northern Kentucky Athletic Conference (NKAC) John Schaar of Bellevue was the executive secretary of the Little "5" and Little"6" and served in the same position in the NKAC until his death in 1962. He was fondly known as "Mr. NKAC". Bob Miller served as executive secretary from 1965 until the mid 1990's. Miller played for and coached with Mr. Schaar at Bellevue.

Longest winning streaks- Bellevue 16 (1943-1958) Ludlow 6 (1985-1987

Tigers have won the last 6 games.

Bellevue wins big. I think this may be the best Bellevue team we've seen in quite sometime.

2003- Ludlow is on a 2 game winning streak after coming off a 32 game losing streak. While it is nice to see Ludlow winning some games, THEY ARE NOT READY TO WIN A GAME LIKE THIS. Bellevue is undefeated at 5 and 0 with a new coaching staff and looking to show they can play with the big boys of Beechwood and NCC. Bellevue wins big.

Ok well that might not have been word for word correct, but I do remember the newspaper saying Ludlow is not ready to win a game like this. Then also people predicting Bellevue to win. What happened Ludlow went out and completely dominated the game and won 28 to 12 with Bellevue scoring a very late touchdown to make it look closer than what it was.

Does any of this sound familiar? Ludlow is coming off a rough two years, but is on a 3 game winning streak, while Bellevue I believe has a new coach and people are really talking them up and making it sound like it would be impossible. Like with Tall Trees comment of well how can Ludlow hold them to the same score that Beechwood did. So this is all shaking up to be really similar and it was exactly 10 years ago when this happened, and history does repeat itself. So it could happen again.

I don't usually make predictions on high school games anymore, but what the heck.

I decided to post just for you GrizzlyAdams. I can't post in these all the time like I use to. However I do miss the great debates we use to have in these Ludlow/Bellevue threads. :D

I will say all the talk about Bellevue having a really good team this year is well deserved, because they do have a really good team. The key for Ludlow will be getting off to a quick start, if they do then I do think Ludlow will win because they are better than people realize now that they are healthy. It will be either Ludlow wins in a close one, or Bellevue gets off to a good start and wins pretty handily. The first five minutes will determine how it goes IMO.
