Miller to visit Louisville

His share of points?? By his share do you mean 40+ in four different games against them?? Yeah I would say that is getting his share alright. Keep in mind, this has been a down decade for Middlesboro basketball. I'm glad you can hang your hat on a district championship.

You know a lot more about the recruiting process than me?? Bank on it?? I really don't even know how to say this without sounding a bit arrogant which I hate doing but for your information, I was recruited and signed by a D1 school. My brother was recruited and signed by a D1 school. My dad was recruited and signed by a D1 school. My grandfather was recruited and signed by a D1 school. I am a third generation D1 athlete and unless you have experienced the same, then no, you don't know more about the process than I do. Like I said, reading about it and watching it in movies isn't the same as experiencing it first hand.

I did say in an earlier post that is was an OFFICIAL visit.

Talking about what the kid has accomplished is not building him up for failure, I don't get why you keep saying that. It was you and bellco14 who brought up the whole, scholarship or walk-on situation when what the original topic itself was was simply that this is an incredible opportunity for an eastern Kentucky kid.

Dont know who you are???......... but if you are from M'boro, or that area, which I'm sure you are, then I am also sure I would know who you are.....if all of that was true of course. I know of no one in M'boro, or Bell County that can boast of that, at least not in football or basketball.

What does Middlesboro have to hang their hat on? If he is the amazing player you make him out to be, Middlesboro would have a lot better record in his years there. One player can make a difference on the high school level in case you havent watched it before. I'm going to have to assume you played football on that level. Thats wonderful I'm happy for you. I was recruited on all levels for baseball, the D1 being as a walk on. I know many people who were recruited on all levels of the big 3 sports. I was involved with one of the sports teams here at UK and know the inner workings of their recruiting processes. Don't tell me I dont know what I'm talking about.

I did bring up the scholly, walk-on situation. What I didn't say was that he was 5'10 or 5'11 like bellco14 said. I know what the original topic was. People were asking about the kid and I was giving my opinion on the kids abilities. How interesting none of these Louisville fans in state knew anything about him.

It's a great opportunity for the kid. Hope he gets what he wants out of it.

I also know of no person from Mboro who can boast of that lineage of college athletics. I know it is not basketball. Am almost positive it is not baseball. All I can think of if it is true is that we are talking D1-AA football, which is not quite the definition of "D1" as we use it. While it is D1, it is not "D1" by definition, as the top level of play.

bell14, Once again, good honest post. I would say the only difference would be that he does have d1AA interest. I honestly don't understand the difference in official and unofficial except for NCAA rules. The difference would be that he would have to pay his own expenses to come. But once you arrive on campus, they still provide a pass to the game and will talk sometime in the process. He would still have to receive a verbal invitation that was instigated by the school in either case. I would also agree that we all need to just let this play out, understanding that no matter what happens, he got an opportunity that most kids only dream about.

Rick Bolus has Miller listed @ 6-1

Honestly, I have played Mens league against and I know him. Hes 5-10 tops. He is an excellent shooter. Honestly that is all he is. Wherever he goes, he will be someone who can come in and let it fly, but I think UL is a little over his head. I think EKU or Georgetown would be schools he could really flourish at.

Its just not that easy to go to a big time D 1 school. We had a player a few years ago named Josh Brock. He was extremely talented, about 6-3 (legit) and could do whatever he wanted on the court. If he was in the right system he would of scored 30 a game (and did a few occasions).

Clay County had a kid named Jeremy Asher a few years ago who was absolutely amazing. Georgetown was the biggest school he could get to.

Rockastle had a kid named Aaron Cash who led Rockastle to 2 regional titles without much around him.

I will assure you, all of these guys were much better than Miller.

His phone never stops ringing. He has been told he could go to LMU, Carson Newman, Walter State (Juco), Morehead, SIU, and even Belmont and step right in the starting lineup. They are simply waiting on him to say the word. Excuse him for waiting things out and seeing if better options come his way. Thank goodness he did though.

For your info, this is an OFFICIAL visit. Sorry to spoil your fun.

I think these are the types of schools he can go to and play very well at. As far as telling him he will start right away, thats hard to believe. I think that is misleading a kid anytime you say that. An accurate thing to say would be he has a chance to compete for playing time right away.

The difference between an official and an unofficial is just the level of interest a school is expressing. Usually if you get invited on an unofficial you have either been offered a scholarship or a preferred walk-on spot. Alot of kids take unofficials, and you dont have to be invited, although you can be, to take an unofficial. Very few take officials and you MUST be invited.

As far as D1AA...... what programs are showing serious interest in Miller???

Listen, I'm not out to prove how good I was or whatever. I'm simply saying that I know every in and out of the recruiting process. I'm sorry you don't know of any family in Middlesboro who could boast of this but maybe that means you don't know everybody, which would be understandable.

Let me give you an example. You played baseball at Bell County. I have heard you talk about you being in high school around maybe 98 or 99 on. Let's examine:

98 District Championship- Middlesboro 12 Bell County 2

99 First Round of District- Pineville 9 Bell County 6

District Championship- Middlesboro 16 Pineville 0

00 District Championship- Middlesboro 12 Bell County 2

01 District Championship- Middlesboro 10 Bell County 3

02 District Championship- Middlesboro 17 Bell County 1

03 District Championship- Middlesboro 13 Bell County 6

Now, you may say what is the point of all this, this thread is about Miller visiting Louisville and not baseball scores. You said earlier, "If he is the amazing player you make him out to be, Middlesboro would have a lot better record in his years there. One player can make a difference on the high school level in case you havent watched it before."

In high school baseball a pitcher, which you said you were, makes just as much difference as one player can make on a basketball team. Seeing how awful your high school baseball team was, using your reasoning, I could say that there is no way a D1 baseball player could come from that team. However, you said you were approached by some D1 schools and even an SEC team (UK) about coming on. How is it then that you, out of everybody on here, can't understand how a great individual player off of a below average high school team, can get looked at by a big program. You said UK for you which although they aren't the greatest, play in the toughest baseball conference hands down and that is equivalent to Louisville right now.

It is possible people.

And just so you and bellco14 can sleep tonight, I played baseball where mind you there is no D1-AA and yes every family member that I mentioned did play D1.

My bad...... misquoted...... I meant OFFICIAL visit instead of unofficial in the bolded statement.

First off........ bellalumni40 did not say he was recruited by UK. He said he was involved in the recruiting process after getting to UK as a college student. He also never said he was signed by a D1 school, or that D1 signee ever came out of Bell's baseball program...... he said he had the oppurtunity to WALK-ON at a D1 school, and that he was recruited at all different levels. Just clarification.

As far as sleeping tonight...... I will sleep just fine knowing that you are full of complete bologne. I'm not calling you a liar.......but you played D1A baseball, as well as your father, and your grandfather, and your brother? It didnt happen, unless I am just totally not considering the school you went to D1A. :sssh: Not to mention the fact that if you think you know all there is to know about recruiting in the big 2 (football and basketball) because you were recruited in baseball, you are completely full of it. HUGE DIFFERENCE in recruiting between the 2 major money making sports on just about any D1 campus, as compared to recruiting in baseball.

bellco14, first of all, why don't you let the man speak for himself. As far as I'm concerned, getting approached to walk-on is being recruited. I mean UK holds tryouts for the entire campus, sometimes hosting 100+ players and they usually keep about 2 or maybe even 3 out of all of them. I'm telling bellalumni40 that would he did was extremely respectable and that he should feel good about someone from the same background getting the opportunity.

As far as your comment about the big 2, I'm not going to stoop to your level and play these games. Anyone from Bell County would have the outlook on sports simply because their baseball program got the shaft from the school. At Middlesboro where the school put pride and emphasis on baseball, we learned to appreciate the level of top notch play more. So I respect your opinion on those being the big 2. However, that doesn't make them any tougher than baseball. Because of the fact that there is simply D1 and not DI-AA in baseball, every team on that level is trying to get the best talent possible because they are competing for the same post-season spots.

Even though we are getting way off topic, I'm not going to let you bully me away from your arguments. As far as you statement about not being a legit D1A in your mind, I could care less my friend. The NCAA's opinion is the only one that matters. DI-AA only exists because there is such a drop-off talent wise in those sports that they have to have a seperate division. Fact!!

About my family, you seem to be getting too personal, or jealous one. I stand by the statement that each of those members of my family you mentioned did in fact play at the D1 level. My brother at an SEC school (UK), my grandfather at an ACC school (Florida State), and my father and I at Mid-Major conferences (him in football and me in baseball). Believe what you want. I'm done with this thread.

I was trying to make a legit point about knowing the recruiting process of the major sports and all of a sudden, D1 baseball isn't good enough in your mind?? Haha, you're laughable my friend. And then you get defensive about me saying I am a 3rd generation D1 athlete as if no was is allowed to have these honors from someone other than Bell County. Get a life man. Our playing days are over and don't even matter anymore. What matters is that Miller gets to enjoy the hype he has deserved.

First off....... basketball and football are the 2 major money making sports at the D1 level. FACT! Because of that recruiting is very very different between them and baseball. FACT. To make a statement, like you did, that you "know" major D1 basketball recruiting like its your job because you were recruited in baseball is ridiculous. As far as D1AA in football and basketball..... I agree, there is a drop off and that is why it exists. My outlook on basketball and footall being the major 2 sports at the D1 level has nothing to do with Bell Co, it is just FACT. I am stooping to no level to make the statement that football and basketball are the big 2 at the D1 level, because they are. That has nothing to do with Bell Co or HS sports whatsoever. I would agree that baseball is the big sport at M'boro, but that doesnt mean that it is at any D1 school, because it isnt.

As far as bellalumni40...... he will speak for himself. But I know the guy personally and was just simply clarifying what he said, since you obviously misunderstood some of what he said. I am sure he didnt mind.

I will assure you I am not jealous of your family, and anyone who knows me personally on this board will vouch that I have nothing to be jealous of. I stand by my statement that you are full of bologne. My playing days are not over by the way. And the only hype that Miller should enjoy is the hype he brings on himself, not the hype you or any other fan trys to heap on him.

If Miller gives Louisville 10 to 15 points a game, it will all be for naught because his horrid defensive play will allow whoever he gards to score 15 to 20 game. Just doesn't even out. Sorry.

13th analyst....... get back to me when Miller signs with UofL!!
