Miller to visit Louisville

First off....... basketball and football are the 2 major money making sports at the D1 level. FACT! Because of that recruiting is very very different between them and baseball. FACT. To make a statement, like you did, that you "know" major D1 basketball recruiting like its your job because you were recruited in baseball is ridiculous. As far as D1AA in football and basketball..... I agree, there is a drop off and that is why it exists. My outlook on basketball and footall being the major 2 sports at the D1 level has nothing to do with Bell Co, it is just FACT. I am stooping to no level to make the statement that football and basketball are the big 2 at the D1 level, because they are. That has nothing to do with Bell Co or HS sports whatsoever. I would agree that baseball is the big sport at M'boro, but that doesnt mean that it is at any D1 school, because it isnt.

As far as bellalumni40...... he will speak for himself. But I know the guy personally and was just simply clarifying what he said, since you obviously misunderstood some of what he said. I am sure he didnt mind.

I will assure you I am not jealous of your family, and anyone who knows me personally on this board will vouch that I have nothing to be jealous of. I stand by my statement that you are full of bologne. My playing days are not over by the way. And the only hype that Miller should enjoy is the hype he brings on himself, not the hype you or any other fan trys to heap on him.

I said playing days, not riding the pine days. I don't understand what makes me full of bologne?? haha Do you still not believe me about my family?? There is a real hang up there isn't there??

Miller has brought this hype upon himself. By breaking the all-time 3 pointers made record and averaging 30 a game, he has caused us to use three pages talking about him.

I didn't say he will sign with UofL, I'm just not happy with you trying to make this visit illegitimate. I hope he goes to LMU and continues to score 30 a game personally. I just want what is best for him.

1. Log Mountain, you evidently haven't played with Miller for a couple of years. 5'10"?

2. Unofficial visits are limited by NCAA. They must be used sparingly and can only be used certain times of the year. Players who live close by sometimes are ask to come. A place like L'ville can get kids to do that.

3. Ukbell, Miller may not get to sign, but he gets a visit. At l'ville that's special.

4. Miller on defense...... he's athletic enough to learn. Defensive players have to learn to shoot. What's the difference? You need both.

5. Why don't some reporter simply call his parents and ask about schools and visits and get the real scoop instead of guessing about who is calling and who is not?

There is a paper called Pinnacle Sports View in that region that did an interview with him a month or so ago but they have taken it off of their website, I will try to find it though. Within the article, Miller himself told of the schools that were recruiting him.

Once again...... Miller is a great shooter and great athlete. I have given him all the props in the world. That doesnt mean he is D1A, especially at the level of a UofL or UK basketball program.

3 pages of YOU talking about how he might, in a one in a million chance, get a scholly to UofL........ and everyone else talking about how ridiculous you are.

I could care less about your family. If anything you are saying has an inkling of truth then it was sooooo long ago that you were recruited that your assessments of recruiting dont even apply considering the recruiting game has changed sooo much in the last several years.

As far as your first statement...... I refuse to respond to complete jealousy, and something that is completely untrue, I will PM you on that one. I thought you were done with this thread. You are very laughable and for sake of this thread I will refrain from responding to any further comments made by you. I refuse to stoop to your level of personal jabs. You my friend, is the one who needs to get a life.

I totally agree and have not said otherwise. Just bothers me when certain ppl overhype this.

If Miller gives Louisville 10 to 15 points a game, it will all be for naught because his horrid defensive play will allow whoever he gards to score 15 to 20 game. Just doesn't even out. Sorry.

At least the Bell guys give Miller some props. I don't ever remember you saying anything good about Miller. It looks like you just don't like him period. This doesn't help me give what you say much credence.

I have said over and over that Miller is an incredibily gifted shooter, as good as there is. I have also said that he is a great athlete who can handle the ball very well. However, I agree with Les in that he doesnt play much defense. I dont think that its a lack of desire or ability, just a lack of coaching IMO. I think it also has to do with the fact that Miller feels like a lone ranger on that team, and doesnt feel like he is surrounded with good talent. That is what happens when you play for a basketball program like M'boro.

Les watches a lot of basketball, and sports in general. What he says is very credible. Doubt he has any personal vendetta against Miller.

Could be true but find me an example where he has given him any props. I'll feel better.

I know its true...... and he did say that Miller will score his 30+. He obviously gives Miller his props as a shooter, albeit in a round about way.

Go back in the one thread with North Laurel, I believe. I said Miller is a good shooter and can get his 30 points a pop. But, he can't play defense worth a lick. I think he's a great offensive player, but offensive players in the mountains are a dime a dozen. Seems like a good kid, but he just doesn't play any 'D'.

Seems like we go through this every year with some great shooter from the mountains. Why is that?

I guess I'll take that as a compliment. But remember he holds STATE records not just mountain records. They are not a dime a dozen. Do you think that he has the ability to learn good defensive skills? He seems pretty athletic.

All I know is, if Miller learns to play better 'D' he might be the next starting corner or safety on UK's football team. JK

Yeah, he can learn to play 'D', but it will take hard work. Heck, I'm not downing the kid, he could beat me at a game of 24...24-0.
