JokersWild24
We've got one for all of the other skill positions. Who do you have here? Can be a tight end or an H back. I feel like there's someone here that I'm missing out on. Maybe their fans can help me out, well if the school has any fans that post here anyway. :sssh: I think he committed to a school that's beat Kentucky recently and it seems like they have a good play caller on their staff. Man, this name is just escaping me right now. :banghead: Remember, he can be a tight end or h-back. Edited October 7, 2013 by JokersWild24

Voice of Reason
TE is a tough one. Usually your good tight ends in high school don't play TE in college. There don't seem to be many schools that throw passes to a TE. Nick True at Highlands is an example of all that. But he is going to play D1 college ball so he is one that needs to be considered. stinkyboy II
I think you are thinking of Nick True. He is committed to WKU. He has yet to play a down at TE this year. He moved to Tackle.
uk#1fan
Grant Vercheak 6'5 250 for Simon Kenton he is only a Junior.

No reason he can't still be the best tight end in the state.

Yea... my first post was pretty tongue-in-cheek. I think True is probably the best tight end in Kentucky, at the very least until someone can come up with another name. He will play tight end in college, correct?

I had the opportunity to speak to Nick about college recruiting over the summer. He indicated then that nearly every school that recruited him either said that they projected him as an o lineman or said that o line was the fallback after trying tight end. I don't know where WKU falls among them, but I think Nick sees himself as a tackle. I also feel like Nick is 'growing into' the position as well as he looks to me to be 260 or above. He can't be the best TE if he doesn't play TE and isn't going to play TE in college. Did he have any catches last year when he did play TE? I like the Hedger kid from Dixie. Can't say where he rates but he is talented and is a JR.

Nick's been an OT from the get-go for recruiters. Too slow to be a D1 TE but will fit perfectly as an OT with athletic ability and a frame to build upon. Same thing with Tate Nichols. He was an OT waiting to happen from Jump Street.

uk#1fan
He is an OT in my opinion also.. From what I have been told he has really good hands. SK runs a lot of plays with 4 wide receives though.
JokersWild24
Maybe a better way to do this one would be starting out listing some teams/offenses that traditionally feature what most would consider a TE/H-Back (whether they are just that on the HS level or project there in college). Voice of Reason brings up a good point about the best 'tight ends' in high school not playing there in college.
