SSC
The first call I'd make is to Miami. Ask them what, in addition to Chapman, it'll take to get Stanton, and then make it happen. You'd have: CF Hamilton 1B Votto LF Stanton RF Bruce 2B Phillips 3B Frazier SS Cozart C Mesoraco And the staff would be intact with: Latos Bailey Leake Cingrani Cueto I'd be happy with that but what would more would it take than Chapman do you think? plantmanky
Saw a poll where I believe it was 93% of Reds fans said they wanted Dusty gone....There's got to come a point where ownership has to worry that bringing him back could cause reduced fan support. Are they there yet? I don't know, but I know if he's back, there's no chance I'm even remotely excited about the Reds next season. Who do you replace him with though? Thats the bigger issue. UKMustangFan
I'd be happy with that but what would more would it take than Chapman do you think? I'd assume they'd ask for Hamilton or Cingrani, which I'd tell them were untouchable. Probably an arm (Stephenson, Corcina) and a young bat (Soto, Lutz, etc)... UKMustangFan
Who do you replace him with though? Thats the bigger issue. Honestly, I wouldn't care. A name I completely forgot about in the other thread that I'd love is Brad Ausmus.
UKMustangFan
Could say the same for his counterpart on that side of the infield. The #s say you couldn't be more wrong.
plantmanky
The #s say you couldn't be more wrong. So Phillips for his money or Votto for his money, which one you taking?
UKMustangFan
So Phillips for his money or Votto for his money, which one you taking? I wouldn't pay either what they're making, but if I were forced to pick one, Votto is clearly more worth what he's making than BP.

HammerTime
I like Hanigan but Meso should be playing everyday so I'm OK with that.
UKMustangFan
One Piece Away Interesting name that I hadn't considered....If the Yankees can't resign Cano, would they do a BP for Gardner deal? :idunno: Would definitely help out at both the CF and leadoff spots if Hamilton isn't ready for full-time duty. That would be an interesting trade. He's not overly expensive and he'd be under team control for 2014 and 2015. If Hamilton pans out he could move over to LF in 2015 and the Reds would have a 1-2 at the top of the order something like Boston had with Ellsbury and Victorino. HammerTime
Or you put Hamilton at 2B to replace BP... I've seen that mentioned a few times now in various places. Is that a serious consideration at this point?
