Class 5A Rankings for 9-24

Hey Guru,

Where do you have Warren Central? I know they lost some early games they should have won, but they have made some adjustments and are playing better. They have some quality players, but still have BG and I think Highlands let so their record will not impress. Still if they beat Greenwood on Friday, which they should they will still get in the playoffs. Just curious.

Central would make the playoffs even with losing to Greenwood, but I'm fairly confident they'll win that game. The problem is that the only wins that will be on Central's schedule are teams that they are markedly better than. The games that were toss-ups, they lost all three. It was unfortunate that those were the opening three games because Central really needed a few games under their belt before they were ready to play tossup games. They may still have lost to Boyle County and DeSales, but I would have certainly liked to have seen Madisonville later in the year and maaaaybe Boyle.

The only game that I don't think I can say for certain I know the result for the rest of the year is Owensboro. If they can beat them, that might be enough that WC would get considered for the top 10.

Didn't JH lose to 2A Desales?

Yes. I have said this on other forums and I will say it here. John has the ability to compete with any team in the state of Kentucky not named Trinity IMO. And they also have the ability to lose to probably 20 teams in the state of Kentucky. Just depends on which John team shows up that night. It is quite frustrating.

Scott cracks the top 10. They will finally get tested by someone this week. Are they for real? If they lose to Cooper, it will be a big blow to their "rankability", if that is word. I think you know what I am saying.

Were in the top 10 last week as well.

I think Conner has the offense to beat BG, the big question is do they have the defense to beat them, as of right now I don't think so.

Didn't the "experts" say Cooper had zero chance to compete with BG last year? They hung around and with a couple of breaks, the game could have gone their way. It's one game, anything can happen, especially with a BG team that would come in as if it's a scrimmage game.

So BG wasn't trying to win? :idunno:

Pulaski is better that Harlan County but other than that list looks good.
