Camels cannot get in a shootout and win. If score gets into the 30s or beyond it will not be good for them. As long as they can have sustained drives and stay within one score they can pull one out. But fall behind by a couple of TDs and it could be a long night. I think Conner wins semi-comfortably.

Outside observers will never understand Conner's passing game, it's too complex. But Clyde is correct, they take what the D gives. Very difficult and unpredictable for the opposing team. They also have only scratched the surface on their playbook. Going to be a fun team to watch the second half of the season, lots of new things coming. I was just reading the Conner preseason prediction thread.............a good laugh for sure. Questions about their line, their receivers, their backs and whether they could even get to 5 wins. This team has a very high ceiling. Can't wait for Homecoming night. Send em' home happy boys.

Camel DB's are going to have to play better than they did against Cooper and the D-Line is going to have to get constant pressure on Barker. I think the key to this game is the Camels Offense... If they can move the ball, control the clock and keep Barker and company off the field as much as possible, they will win but they have to convert in the red Zone and limit mistakes and penalties also. I think it will be another close game and I'll take the Camels 20-14.

 

CC has a big shot coach out there teaching the secondary...They will do just fine.

 

I have not seen Conner play this yr so it is hard to make a comparison but if Conner has issues stopping the run they will have issues with a very physical "mini me JLO" of a QB imo.

 

Kid throws a decent ball and can extend the play suprisingly(sp) well and when he decides it is time to go up field look out...

 

I will be rooting for the Campbell Cty team in this one for obvious reasons...Just sayin

Im with you, I think Conner deffinatly is the favorite to take district this year. You have a college style QB playing HS ball, nothing easy about defending that.

 

Campbell Co. has a version of Durham at QB in Wood, not as big or powerful as Durham was but boy he can still take off and give the defense fits. They have a really nice line and can put pressure up the middle but I think Barker's mobilitiy will be too much to stop. If conner watched the Cooper tape they will see how you beat CC and unfortunately for the Camels that is Conner's strongest asset, the passing game.

 

I look at Barker throwing for over 250 and Way having a big night with 150 yds receiving.

I pick Conner by 3 scores.

I would love to see Coach Lickert get his boys ready to pull off the win, but I don't see it happening in this one.

IMO a good QB makes the "wet field favors the team that runs" mantra a myth.

 

Unless it's raining so hard that the ball is just too hard to hold then the strong qb/reciever combo is a huge advantage. Hard for the DB to react on a wet field.

 

Plus add in that a strong passing game opens up the lanes for a strong running QB.
