UK4Life- I am not saying Lee or Leslie are not good I am just saying they are not that much better than Perry, Hazard, Letcher, Jcity, Estill and others.

If some one just read the bgpreps posts about those 2 schools and never watched any 14th region games you would think they were head and shoulders above everybody else.

Lee has a good record but have not really played anybody that good outside of region compettion. Bishop Brossart is a decent team but they have had better teams the last 2 years when Hazard beat them in All A. Lee won the all a but that does not get you anywhere just ask Hazard who won it 3 years in a row.

Leslie is good but have not lived up to preseason hype. Perry gave the game to them friday night.

I think both Lee and Leslie can win region, but they are not that much better than everyone else.

 

good argument, i was just wondering about your thoughts on this. I do think that Lee, Leslie and PCC are the top three teams but are not that much better than the next 6 teams (hazard, LCC, Estill, JBS, JCity, Buckhorn)

Lee has won the all "a", Leslie the wymt mountain classic. Lee is a total of 5-0 against the two underated teams. If overrated, how low should either team be rated in the 14th? I believe Estill may be underated somewhat, but Powell? The last I checked , their record was maybe 7-12, with the 3rd best record in a four team district, their only win against Owsley. How high should they be? What do Leslie and Lee need to do to be considered one of the top teams?

I don't think Lee is underrated because most people place them where they should be. Top 2 or 3 in region. Buckhorn is a little overrated IMO because they lack that BIG game win. Hazard is just too inconsistant. They have the talent it seems, but are a litte inconsistant.

Hazard is definently underated. All i ever here is PCC is the best team, Leslie is the best team. I think Hazard is the best team in that district.

Hazard gets ton of press around here. And the reason people put PCC above them is because PCC beat them.

Agreed, Estill should move up to no less than top 6, due to they played Lee a top 1or2 seed within 11 pts each time. Not saying 11 is good but the game was always interesting and due to some clutch freethrows in the end it would of been much closer. Leslie is tough no doubt and a top 1 or 2 team but can they get it done come tournament time?

I didn't consider underrated when looking at the recent polls- Estill is in the top 6 on both. I kind of went by the 'official' polls.

 

As far as the opinions posted on this forum....Jackson City is probably the most underrated.

 

I also think that Breathitt County may be better than their record shows.

As Ronnie said, PCC has the win there so until that changes, Hazard can't say they are #1. Hazard has lost several games this year, some to good teams, and some to bad ones (South Floyd, Wolfe, a mediocre Iriquois team) althought they avenged their loss to South Floyd, they still lost and they also dropped one to Jackson City who is a good team. Hazard is very overrated because of the "hype" they get despite being 11-9. They are good, don't get me wrong, but they have not proven yet that they are the team to beat as PCC has with their 18-4 record with the only ? loss to a Belfry team they should have beaten. JBS is good and beat them at home so I don't think that takes anyhting away from PCC.
