St X(1-0) travels to Lex Cath(0-1) on Saturday August 30th. Both X and Lex Cath have learned they have a lot of work to do on offense and defense. How will the X pass d hold up against the Lex Cath passing attack? How will Lex Cath's D defend X's offense? Who wins and why?

Ouch..........X by whatever margin is desired

Seriously? X really struggled with SK and while they won, it was hardly a blowout against Ballard. What makes you think that they somehow steamroll Lex Cath.?

Traditionally X has put beat downs on Lex. Cath with the exception of the 2003 season. X handles Lex. Cath because Lex Cath can not handle the line play of X. On offense X will have a huge knight on the ground and sprinkle in a pass here and there to keep the Knights honest. The Knights will move the football, but I believe will come up Monty on a number of drives and Ryan will be running around a lot.

Tigers - 38

Knights - 10

Who are some playmakers for Lexington Catholic? Any posters know about the 2013 Black Knights?

Like LongTimeReader said, St. X always handles Lexington Catholic well and I don't see that changing. Believe that this matchup when Seniors were freshman was 63-0 blowout for the Tigers. Hope it is a good game as I and many other St. X alums that live in the Lexington area will be in attendance! Expecting better performance from Nagle and from Hayden, Roshkowski, King and receiver. Look for a breakout game from corner Dekota Jones! He's a big time player for the Tigers! No problem with this one as Tigers finally hit the 40's winning 45-10.

St. Xavier will run the ball at will against the Knights. This will be a running clock early in the second half (with the new 36 point rule). The Knights are not near their recent squads talent-wise. The Xaverians will not be tested until September 6 at home vs the Purples.

I do have one question about this game. Whom scheduled the time and date, and could it have not been changed or tweaked ? Why is this kickoff basically right in the middle of the Cats/Toppers Televised Contest ? The game is in Lexington, which adds more speculation as to the time ? Nobody thought about moving this one up to 1:00 or something ?

St. Xavier 42-17.

Its the annual Republic Bank Bluegrass Bowl. There are middle school games from 9 to 3. Bowling Green plays Bryan Station at 5:30 followed by the LexCath/X game at 8 p.m. This has been the format and times for years.

St. X. Will roll in this one. Their linemen are much bigger than Catholic's. Bowling Green put up 263 yards rushing and we are not considered a rushing team. Their line is small and St. X's line is huge. That should be the difference.

St X 46 LexCath 12
