August 27, 201313 yr You really are an inspiration, FKYW. Even though I could never do even an inch of what you did, it does inspire me to get more physically active.
August 28, 201313 yr Do you think you will ever do another one? In 9 weeks I am. You go in to the race saying you will never do another. During the marathon portion of my first you get a chance to talk with other competitors. A common question I had was, "how many times have you done this?" There was a range of answers from people of all ages and size. I would explain that I have no intention of ever doing this again. They just smiled and said, "you will be back, because this is who you are and what you do." Turns out they were correct. Even after my first I kept a solid regiment of working out intensely and did "smaller" races to fill the void (century ride, metric century, Olympic, and half-IM). My wife is doing this race so I said what the heck and will be competing once again in Florida.
November 3, 201411 yr Do you think you will ever do another one?I honestly wasn't sure if I would or not. Managed to take all of this year off from long distance triathlon and put my focus on Olympic distance mainly. It started to eat at me and I signed up for 2015 Ironman Chattanooga.
