Holmes @ Highlands 2/7

Featured Replies

Tanner Johnson will be the key for the Birds success. Holmes gave up a lot of offensive rebounds to Danny Noll of CCH and he's not as strong or as physical as Johnson.

Is this Jefferson kid from Holmes the same one who is being recruited in football?

Austin Hill is the one being recruited.

a lot of talk about Vories. He is an awesome player but he didn't win 18 games by himself. He can make things happen if his team is there with him. Look at the game against Bryan Station - 21 points from Tanner, 17 points from Guidugli, Mcgraw had 4 and Smith had 2 and was out with a concussion before half.

No one seems to give any credit to Johnson, Guidugli, Smith, Hudepohl, and Eaton for helping Vories look so good. I MHO, there are a lot of screens set to help out Vories. Again no disrespect to Jeff V, but let's now overlook the other 7 that are making big contributions to this team.

Yes but I don't think HHS other players have guarded many perimeter players to the caliber and athleticism Holmes will throw at you.

Duran Jefferson just got an offer from UK for football. But I'm sure Austin Hill will get more than his fair share.

Holmes has alot of talent at skill position in football. To bad some of these guys didn't suit up at a football power.

You have no cule what you are talking about do you. Have you seen Highlands play at all this season. They have played some very athletic and talented team this season. Bryan Station is a very athletic and talented team that pressed the whole game full court.

I would think that Mr. Jacobs and Tierney would have a problem with that statement. :fight:

Highlands handled a very tough Bryan Station team Saturday night.

Highlands should be able to handle a Holmes team that will not be as athletic

or as physical as Bryan Station.

Also I know a year has passed. But remeber basically the same teams played last year, and Holmes won, and didn't just win, blew the Bluebirds out of the gym.

How can you say the same teams? Both teams I am sure have improved and IMO HHS has improved the most. They have won the games they needed to win, period. Even though most of them are SR's, they are winning ball games and they have great floor leadership, excellent defense and Johnson/Guiduigli/Smith will cause problems for Holmes inside. If it turns into a track meet Holmes will win. I think the physicality will cause Holmes problems and I see the Rice kid getting frustrated and possibly getting a couple of T's tonight.

There both great players. I'm not taking anyting away from them. Why must people always over react on this site.

The fact is no team HHS has faced yet this year has 4 perimeter players to the caliber of Holmes. For that matter 5 or 6 perimeter players to that caliber.

The only way the bluebirds win is if the frontcourt scores a good amount. In the 9th region your are no going to out play their backcourt period.

The only reason he gets frustrated is if the refs don't control Ben G.

Have anyone ever been able to control him. I think he will get into the heads of the Holmes players. He can do that and does it better than anyone that Holmes has faced all year. He's not going to be the deciding factor but he is going to be a big factor. How many technicals do you think will be given in this game?

Does everyone agree that highlands will do a better job than any team in the 9th, slowing the game down? Jacobs and Tierney like to run and don't have a dominant big man like Votel, so it was hard for them to slow the game down. Thats just not how they play.

Pendleton Co. can slow it down and that had an effect on Holmes. Shelby Co had dominant big men and that allowed them to go right at the weak interior of Holmes D. I'm just asking is this going to be huge factor? I think it will.

That is kind of a general statement to make. He hasnt seen Ben G yet this year and seems to have had some meltdowns. It will be a great game either way.... get there early because they are not selling any pre-sale tix.

I do not think people are over reacting to your comments. Holmes does have a good team but to say that Highlands has not played anyone that has 4 perimeter players to the caliber of Holmes is a great over statment. For one have you seen any of the teams that they have played. Station was by far the most talented team. They could push you up and down the floor. If you are going to talk like an expert you need to do your research.
