Ryle 17 Cooper 10

I think we are pretty much on the same page, but I won't call this a nice win. It was a necessary win to keep the heat from going nuclear in Union. How far has this program fell since the win over Highlands?

I'm not sure if you're new on here or you've "lurked" in the past but it seems , yes, we are on the same page. Ryle should be a lot better.

I view any win as a nice one. Not pretty but the effort was there.

I thought the second punt from Ludwig went off the up man's backside?? No? The key play of the game was a fantastic punt by Ryle to nail Coop inside their own 1. Flipped the field and Ryle took control from there.

England looked tentative to me. Needs to hit his holes with more authority.

Both Punts were blocked by #42 Belk. First one with his hand and the second he drove blocker into it and picked it up and almost scored. He almost blocked 4 total.

Sounds like the offensive output for both was really low. Any numbers?

Newspaper said Ryle used 3 quarterbacks.

3? Wow.

3? Wow.

Setters played QB.

Setters played QB.

Looked like they ran some wildcat when Ryan Hill was under center. I got to hand it to Ryle, looked like they actually tried to throw the ball more than in the past.

I will say this, Cooper's defense played 100% better than they did in the scrimmage llast week and if they continue to improve like that they could have a pretty good season. Next week against NCC should be a good test.

Ryle will have there hands full this week play Scott Co.

My bad I met Hill not Setters.

You had better like low scoring games if you go to a Ryle v Cooper game. Wasn't last year like 10-0? JV was 6-0 today.

Quick update on Ludwig. He is going to be fine. Injury occurred on the roughing the passer play. He took a helmet up under his rib protectors. Deep abdominal bruise. He is sore but should be good to go.

No. last year was something like 38-6 Cooper

The Boone Cooper game was 10-0

Here are my observations of the game

Ryle: They took advantage of their size up front, They controlled the clock and did not let Cooper have the ball very long. Ryle did an excellent job on special teams. Their punting and punt coverage were the big difference. They have a lot of players that can carry the ball. Biggest areas for concern for me are can they throw the ball. Only had a couple completions. Had one interception but probably should have had more.

Cooper: Defense played much better against Ryle than they did against Dixie. The defense of Cooper definitely kept them in the game. Ryle received the ball 4 times within Coopers 40 yard line. Only offense was from the passing game. Had very difficult time running the ball. That issue could be solved this week with the return of their fullback who was out with a concussion. Special teams is the biggest area that needs fixed. Having two punts blocked is going to hurt anyone in a close game. Return protection needs to improve. Aaron had very little room to gain yardage.

If these teams play again the outcome could easily have came out the other way. Both teams player very hard. Hopeful both teams continue to improve and have success the rest of the season.
