I have seen many girls play football at the K-6 grade levels and a few are really good. Once puberty hits boys get a dose of testosterone and they pull away in the strength and aggressiveness department. I can't see how it makes sense in a world where football is under daily scrutiny and outright attack for safety issues to let a female take a chance on being the next major injury that causes the sport to endure further controversy. As long as they pee in separate places at school, they should not play football together.

South Kenton Peewee team has a girl on it and she is very good. She plays outside linebacker and tight end. I have seen her make plenty of tackles in the backfield.

 

Really? Beechwood is going to need someone to replace Stringer.

I say No. If there is enough girls that want to play then form teams. BTW Holley Mangold was an OL and played varsity on special teams.

When Alabama recruits a female (knowingly ), I will care. Until then, it's a boys game.

Bellevue (Kaylynn Dill) and Dayton (Nicole Schowalter) both had female soccer players doing some of the kickoffs and all the extra points the last few years. Dill did for 3 years ('10-'12) and Nicole Schowalter is a Sr. this year.

 

Both young ladies did an admirable job as well. :thumb:

I have no problem at all with a girl wanting to play. If she is good enough to get playing time then I say more power to her.

Here is where the girls take advantage with the weight classes. Most high school females who win do so at the lower weights. At this weight most 15 - 17 year old girls are wrestling boys who are in grade school or middle school because the high school boys struggle to maintain weight. At his point the girls are so much more physically stronger and mentally tougher. The high school's move the younger kids up so they don't automatically lose by default and have a possible chance of winning a match.
