August 15, 201313 yr Outside the Lutheran church I've been to with my grandparents on my dad's side many times, I've only been inside non-Catholic churches on a handful of occasions (weddings or funerals). I can't even imagine how I'd respond... I've had the opposite reaction going to Protestant services; at both the Lutheran church and few Methodist services, his comment seems to ring true. 30 minutes in... wait, what? It's over? They're already married? Isn't this supposed to take at least 90 minutes?

I'll never forget the first Baptist wedding I ever went to, about 15 minutes after the bride walked down the aisle it was over. I was looking around like "Huh? Seriously, that's it?" I guess it balances out though; Catholics tend to have shorter services and longer weddings, while for a bunch of Protestant denominations it is basically the opposite.
