Connor Kunstek (St. Henry)- big, strong, athletic, and from what I understand has, or is working to, convert himself to a perimeter player. Young man always seems to work hard, appears to be a great kid. He rebounds the ball well, finishes at the rim with strength and has decent touch on his short to mid range game. He should be a major player for SHDHS. Saw him ranked as a top 15 player in NKy, but gets little love here.

 

I really like Conner's game. He does have a nice outside stroke(although it can get flat a bit). Nice touch. Big strong kid with a solid enough handle to play on the perimeter. Quiet kid. Confident. Plays full-out 100% of the time. Strong enough that he can get position in the post whenever he wants it.

 

His little bro has a chance to be a future Cru player as well.

He is a good player, who is transitioning to the perimeter. He is well built and powerful, however he needs to work on his handles and his lateral quickness.

Agreed on what he needs to work on. However, if he has a big 4 on him he can take him from the perimeter. It gives Dave options.

I like Kunstek a lot. As I stated in the other thread, kid is an animal on the boards. Very strong and physical.

 

Looking forward to seeing him this year and next.

Agreed on asserting himself. Happens to a lot of sophs playing varsity. My guess is those days are long gone for CK.

BINGO......Ran into Coach Faust a couple of weeks ago and brought up Conner, he said he would take a team full of Conner's. He said he was proud of the way he played in the Regional last year.

St Henry might surprise some people with Rechtin, Plummer, Kunstek, Noble, and the sophomores: Goetz and Wallenhorst. They will be tough and gritty, and not afraid to get physical with you. They are a blue collar team and should be St. Henry's best team in awhile. I like their collection of talent and each kid is capable of guarding multiple positions.

Although I didn't get specific about players, I said in a thread on the Ninth's top teams that St. Henry was underrated. Agree this should be their best team in several years, maybe going back to 08. Maybe further. I think they are right on the cusp of being top five in the Ninth.

 

As for Kunstek, I like him a lot. He gets a lot done and got better and better last season. He will likely be the Cru's most productive player this year.

I do like the hard nose play of Kunstek. I do think this will be one of St. Henry's best teams in the last few years. All of the players mentioned are solid kids with nice skills. They seem to have a position player at every spot. Most kids have the ability to create match up issues. Their only issue will be the fact the 9th is loaded this year.

Never rule out a team coached by Dave Faust.

I think they will struggle with Dixie in the district, because of Dixie's all around size. Hatton and Schreck make up one of the bigger backcourts in the ninth, and Hatton is tough matchup for anyone because of his girth and skill set. Hedger, Bolin, and Niehaus are much bigger than St. Henry's front court. Im interested to see St. Henry play this year, because I really like their senior class as a collective whole. With that said, I do expect them to pull a few upsets this year, because of St. Henrys versatile players. I wouldnt be surprised to see them make a run at NKU this year.
