Headline writing is hard.

I couldn't care less where the Cats get their motivation from as long as they win.

I get it. A guy who works for an actual newspaper -- one that covers IU, UofL, UK and WKU -- accused players and coaches from one of those schools of "whining" which is not a word you see in newsprint very often. It seems unprofessional. I see why some were taken aback. Still think it's funny.

This is exactly how I feel. It just seems like a poor choice of words to me.

I'm a big WKU fan and I didn't see the UK players' comments as whining. They certainly seem determined which is to be expected.

Still no issue for me... Beat them, and you don't have to worry about what they do or say after the game. He was whining, and the guy in the CJ simply pointed it out. All the kid had to say was "They beat us on our home field, we want to avenge that loss." This article doesn't exist then.

I couldn't care less, but I think the question of it being a fair statement or not is arising from the news reporters not actually covering the event, instead injecting their editorial bias when it is not supposed to be injected. Again, I have no issue with it but I get the other side of the argument. It is not really about "just go out and win to shut them up" or "quit your whining" response rhetoric. If this was an editorial piece it would be acceptable. I think that is what Wireman and others are trying to say.

It doesn't matter what my opinion is. It's not a question of whether he was whining or not it's a question of the newspaper staff interjecting their opinions into an article that should be a factual article.

I'm sure UK beat writer Kyle Tucker appreciated his co-workers hanging him out to dry like that.
