The house announcer at Louisville basketball games at the Yum Center has tried foisting this one on us and it makes me mad every time I hear it. My hunch is that NFL teams like the Steelers and Raiders were among the first. Does anyone know when the term "Big Blue Nation" came into regular use?

I may think the tag is dumb, but the sentiment isn't. I'm proud to hold a degree from the University of Louisville and be able to say that I'm a Cardinal... forever.
