Didn't Paducah Tilghman get some new players when Lone Oak consolidated? How will that affect their team?

Tilghman was loaded before the transfers, then these kids that came from Lone Oak (I say that instead of McCracken bc they hadn't yet gone to school or officially played at McCracken) will take them over the top.

 

Athletically, and some will think I'm crazy, but Tilghman is every bit as talented as Louisville Central. They may not have the depth of 80+ on a roster, but there isn't a bits worth of difference bt the two when it comes to their best 22.

If it's the RB #25 from LO last year and the Zaire kid (Fr.-QB) then they will be spooky good. LO had the best looking Soph.'s I have ever seen at the high school level last year. A couple of those guys go to PT and it changes everything.

^^ I don't THINK one of them is Zaire. I could be wrong, but I think he stayed with ole' Jack and the boys.

The question for the rest of 3A is can they beat Central?

I thought that Tilghman was way too low in these rankings. I'd put them at #2 with a bullet.

The problem with Tilghman though is it seems like the same song and dance every year.

 

"More speed that anyone but Central"

 

"More talent than anyone but Central"

 

"3-4 D-1 Prospects"

 

Yet.... once the season starts they are Jekyll and Hyde..looking great one week then getting their skulls caved in the next. Last year everyone had Tilghman as one of the Top 5 teams in 3A yet they basically were flat the entire season and never really even threatened as a contender in the West or showed any semblance of improvement.

 

I am not well versed enough to speak on why this happens, my complete unbiased outside perspective makes me wonder if it is coaching or line play. It is obvious the talent at the skill positions is there, yet something keeps them from taking that next step.

South Warren is the sleeper. They will be tough. Monroe is to high in rankings, they lost the keys, but they have a young qb and receiver core that is going to grow into something big...they as a team are small, fast, and strong. I hope the heart bleeds up from some younger players this year!

And IMO I don't feel Central can be beat this year in 3a!

Wayne....very tough also, but they have a tough bracket.
