Is there an echo in here?

Ya know, checking Twitter I see a lot of opinion on Nerlens. Some is positive and some is not so positive but what gets me is that one Basketball person says that Nerlens is overvalued and may be a reach. That person is getting hammered over that.

My thing is, couldn't Nerlens be a reach? I mean what productivity has he honestly shown? It'sostlu potential based and he very well could end up being a bad #1 pick, similar to Kwame Brown. Now he may prove me wrong but just because I like UK doesn't mean I'm gonna have blinders, like most, and turn away from the fact that Nerlens is a work in progress to be NBA ready IMO.

It's just funny to see people getting blasted for having legit points. Now if Nerlens had went to GT or somewhere else I'm sure most BBN fans would have a different opinion.

If Nerlens didn't hurt his knee it wouldn't even be a talking point right now. His offense is limited and thats the area most look to when they say he is all potential, but he is an elite defender. He still has a lot of potential on that end of the floor as well, but he has defensive instincts you cannot teach. If his knee heals properly and it doesn't cause him to lose that much spring or athleticism he will grow to be one of the best post defenders in the league.

But he did have the injury so it's a legit argument. We're talking the #1 pick on a player who struggles offensively, just had knee surgery, and a lot is based on potential?

Again if it wasn't a UK player others would say that description often reads as a reach pick.

Really? I have to disagree. Definitely no all-stars, but I think a lot of these guys will be in the league for many years to come. I even see a lot of the guys in the second round sticking around for a while. No real star power to speak of, but a ton of rotation players.

Possibly, but I am just not not seeing it. A few months ago I heard some saying that through this whole draft class only 4-5 are projecting to be long term starters within the NBA. That is bad. That means the remaining guys will be role and/or rotational guys. They just do not last in the NBA or they are just easily replaceable.

Sorry didn't see that

Haha. It's alright just messin with ya.

Yeah but a lot of those players were not labled as the "next Bill Russell" before ever making it to a college campus. Nerlens showed more improvement from November to early February than almost anyone in basketball last season not named Oladipo. His offensive development is a worry, but he also showed quick development in that area last season. His defensive instincts are light years ahead of most guys, he protects the rim, gets blocks, gets steals, but more importantly his motors always running. Seems like he's got the two thumbs up on his knee surgery and recovery, so with that outlook I would definitely take him #1 in this draft. Taking the best overall talent with the most potential is far from a reach. In two or three seasons he should be one of the premiere defenders in the league, and he will at least be able to grab averages of 10 and 10 in points and boards.

Follow-up trade rumble: Bulls intend to flip Thomas Robinson in subsequent (or connected) deal if they take him from Rockets for No. 20 pick

That makes no sense because Robinson all but assured us he was going to much better than Anthony Davis.

If I am these teams I would want to trade players for picks in next years draft

The trades could make the draft interesting. Hopefully some actually happen.

Don't know how legit the dude from Sheridan Hoops is but he's saying Len on the top of Cleveland's big board and Anthony Bennett on top of the Wizards draft board. Hope he's wrong in both instances, especially for the Wizards. I will throw things at the tv if they take Bennett instead of Otto Porter.

One place I could see Canaan going if he is drafted in the first round is to the L.A. Clippers. Bledsoe has come in to his own and ready to make the next step elsewhere. CP3 and Sip (Canaan) have a really good relationship off the court. He is already a mentor to Isiah and people compare his game to Paul's game.
