He doesnt play football.

:sssh: Depending on the elbow recovery, he should be lining up on the gridiron for the Red Colonels this season.

I've heard the same...WR.

As far as Dixie's team, I really like them as my preseason #3 team, yes ahead of Covcath.

The JR class is very deep and when you add Drew Moore to the mix, they have the potential to roll out some lineups with serious size and very good athleticism.

Hatton has worked his butt off this summer to get in better shape and continue to improve his game. When you have a player of his caliber, they will be in any game against anyone.

I, too, am excited to see how the Colonels start and progress throughout the season.

Is he starting to play again? Last time I saw him at the state tourney he was in street clothes with a bad back. Hope he is back to 100%

Back is getting there....he has been working with personal trainers and a nutritionist throughout the summer to stay in shape and work on the little things. When I saw him before the Ryle-Dixie scrimmage, he was doing shooting drills by himself.

He didn't play in any Dixie summer games (got hurt past 3 season so Chevy held him out), but I believe he will be with the Magic for the July events.

But let's be honest, after Holmes & NewCath, there is a major drop off for the teams 3-10.

Both Cov Cath and Dixie may argue that comment?

CovCath & Dixie might have good teams, but they will not be at the level of Holmes and NewCath.

I need to see the new guys hit outside shots when teams sell out on Bolden.

Just like I need to see someone else outside of Hatton be a major player for Dixie.

Dixie will be good this year...mark that down...and there won't be as big of a gap as some think.

IMO, they are most complete team top to bottom as far as size and depth go.

Holmes will be very good for the simple fact that they have the best player in the region and best core of guards in the region. (HS is all about guard play)

Newcath, IMO, has the best starting 5, but lack depth. All 5 Newcath starters will play at the D1 or D2 level.

Covcath has Ruthsatz and VonHandorf but will get killed on the boards, IMO, because of a lack of a post presence.

We shall see. This is what makes 9th region basketball so fun.

I'd say after 1-3 there is a little bit of a drop off but not much. Boone will be very good this year too. I think you guys are sleeping on them big time.

Agreed. I think I mentioned that earlier. Will they now look at themselves as key players vs supporting players?

A few comments:

NC always has depth issues - been that way for over a decade.

CCH won't be much smaller than they were last year. Could be just as big with young Hepp.

Agreed on Newcath.

I think losing Pauly and Tobler will really hurt Covcath, however. You know I was a big Pauly fan. Kid did it all as an undersized player and Tobler was big for them once he got healthy. Just can't see the Covcath front court producing like those two did last year.

Again, we will see. Should be another exciting year.

I've seen several Dixie Heights players around the AAU circuit this summer.

Working hard, lots of talent.

Best of luck to DH this season.

Also---hope you get your thread back!

I've seen Mitch Bolin, Liam Rabe, Austin Schreck, and Brandon Hatton all mentioned throughout the summer.

They also have an incoming frosh, Hunter Myer, that will likely play up at the JV level and start and possibly get varsity mins in a blowout.
