Much better game than last night.

DHawkins had 33.

I believe Derek had 12 and 9. Indy couldn't stop Hawkins. Looked like he took the prior loss to heart and wanted to show what he could do.

I know he won't be much of a factor this year or next, but I can see Hawkins turning into one of those memorable in-state kids that the fans really get behind and leaves a nice legacy over the course of a four year career. You don't read or hear much (really any) negatives about him. I have a friend from college who works at Madison Central who raves about the kid's character, and it's not hot air.

If you saw him against 2 really good D1 guards last Saturday in INdy you might think he will be a bigger factor than people think. I know the UK staff does.

Hawkins and Willis will both surprise folks with their development at UK

I hope they do and can erase the stigma of Kentucky kids at UK.

Just don't see either of these two helping out much at a Calipari-coached UK. Hawkins would have been a better fit at UofL, could have seen him getting considerable minutes there this season. Did they even recruit him? Lots of difference in competing with 3-4 year players than 1 and done'ers

Hawkins is a winner and a warrior. He has pride and heart and plays with a little bit of a chip on his shoulder... especially when he is challenged. Things generally turn out well for folks with those qualities. His talent level is close enough that the intangibles will make a difference before it is all said and done.

Miller started erasing that stigma I think.

Ture, but I want it gone completely. Polson inched forward. Hood not so much.

I think Hawkins will contribute sooner than Willis but I think both will have better careers at UK than Polson and Hood. I wouldn't be surprised if they get more clock than Polson and Hood this season also.

When was the last time there were 4 Ky kids on the roster?
