June 14, 201313 yr The Los Angeles Clippers have not formally requested permission to interview Celtics coach Doc Rivers in the wake of widespread reports about Rivers' potential departure from Boston, but there is strong mutual interest between the parties, according to sources close to the situation. Sources told ESPN.com on Thursday that Rivers is highly intrigued by the idea of coaching the Clippers in the event that he and the Celtics part company after nine seasons together and one championship in 2008. Sources say the Clippers, meanwhile, would immediately vault Rivers to the top of their list if he became available as they continue a coaching search that, to this point, has focused on Brian Shaw, Byron Scott and Lionel Hollins. June 14, 201313 yr Author If he does go there it'll be interesting to see if KG winds up there as well. Paul Pierce as well
June 14, 201313 yr Author ^ He's younger than KG. KG also has 17 years of experience....Pierce had 14...KG was 5th overall....Pierce was 10th... Sorry this was for HT
June 14, 201313 yr Pierce is from LA. Hometown discount. Dump Billups for Pierce plus CP3 is a free agent. They can get KG and Pierce. Wouldn't that be something.....
June 14, 201313 yr Author No way, plus I doubt the Clips would want him. They may not...Just throwing him out there...Both KG and Pierce are similar in a lot of ways but KG is the better player. What about Rondo?
June 14, 201313 yr They may not...Just throwing him out there...Both KG and Pierce are similar in a lot of ways but KG is the better player. What about Rondo? I don't think Rivers is wanting to leave just for all of them to rejoin him in LA...haha
June 14, 201313 yr I'd take Pierce before KG but they both still have something to offer the game. No way they can bring Rondo, Pierce and KG. They can bring 2. Not 3.
June 14, 201313 yr I think Doc wants to be with his guys except Boston doesn't want to keep the two old guys. LAC is a natural landing spot for all three and the Clips would be one of the favorites for the title next season.
June 14, 201313 yr I don't think adding Pierce and/or KG does much for the Clips honestly. I agree. Sure you add experience, but neither of those guys is going to win you a series at this point in their careers.
