Insight to Time Warner switch

Featured Replies

Today was the first day of the change over. Anyone having any issues? Our phone isn't working. I've called the Insight/TW number several times and it goes straight to busy signal.

I believe today is the first day of phones. TV and Internet are a week from now.

I had no trouble signing up for my Time Warner ID and have already downloaded the WatchESPN app I've been desperately awaiting. So that at least worked.

That's one of the only reasons I don't have a problem with the changeover. Can't wait to download the app

Can you keep your Insight email AND get the TW ID?

The WatchESPN app isn't bad but TWC's DVR / Live TV app is horrible.

Insight mail will work until June 2014. So yes, you can do both.

We took a bad DVR down there today. They tried to give us one that they said was "refurbished, but was so dusty and dirty it looked like it had just come in from someone else's house. So they gave us a different one. Took that one home and guess what -- it didn't work either!

How did you go about signing up for your ID?

If you log in to the Insight online billing site (https://billpay.myinsight.com/) it will show you your new Time Warner account number and customer ID. It will also have a link to take you to My Services at Time Warner to sign up.

Insight was already terrible, and sounds like this will only make things worse... Awesome.

I'm seriously considering moving when my lease is up in August simply for the fact of getting away from Insight.

HBO GO was not working for us last night (Game of Thrones season finale, so there was some drama). We tried the Insight account info we had been using for a long time and it said "you don't have HBO." Tried the new TWC ID I signed up for and it wouldn't work either. I assume they will clear that up quickly, but won't be shocked if they don't.

P.S. We have had TiVo since 2000. All other DVRs I have seen / used pale by comparison. Every cable company pushes their DVR, but we politely decline and ask for our multi-stream cable cards to put in our 3 TiVos.

How much does TiVo cost? I've kicked around the idea of getting it for a long time but I always felt that I'd probably be driven away by the upfront cost plus a monthly subscription.

What don't you like? I've never had a problem with mine.

The response time tends to hang at times. Like you send a remote command and it doesn't move. It eventually receives the command - and the eight others you made because you weren't sure whether it was receiving them. The one we have in our front room at times forgets about certain series. We can't figure out a rhyme or reason to it. Nothing else recording at the time, show is marked as new and therefore should record but doesn't. That's a real pain if it's on a channel where they don't replay those shows often (or ever).

There's a lot of features that I think would be a step up in organization and searching. They improved those some with their last firmware update but it could be much better. And last, it would be nice to have something more than dual tuners. That may not even be something TiVo offers.

I've noticed the delay you're talking about. Can be very frustrating.
