If Haslem makes that exact same block it would be talked about more because it would be more spectacular for Haslem to do it. Flip it, if Splitter dunks it the Lebron haters would still be howling in laughter and mocking him. Then it would be about LeBron again so, it would be incredibly hyped. The Hibbert block of Melo was equally as impressive and you can argue it saved the series for the Pacers... it definitely was at a crucial juncture in the game. It got a lot of pub, but not to this degree. And people can at least identify Melo in a lineup, Splitter, Haslem, etc. no person knows.

June 11, 201313 yr I'll give you dramatic and entertaining. Other than that, it was routine. Like I said, LeBron should block that guy. It would be embarrassing if he didn't. If Haslem had made the block, we wouldn't even be talking about it. I don't care if its Mutumbo, Hakeem, Russell, Lebron, whoever, nothing about that block was routine. 7 footer catches the ball with momentum and leaves from the circle fully cocked, usually he's going to win out. It would have been a good block just to keep the ball away from the rim, to totally send it back though was impressive in itself. You all are crazy if you think a block like that is routine.

June 11, 201313 yr The guy was fully cocked and had momentum from almost the free throw line? How is that not a good block? Lebron was basically at a stand still, waiting for a player who had momentum. He basically went from flat footed to straight up for the block while Splitter had all the momentum in his favor. Lebron still punched it the other way! I don't care who was trying to dunk or who was trying to block, usually in that situation the offensive player is going to win (either by drawing a foul or getting the ball to the rim). Great block IMO. The Hibbert and Robinson blocks were just as good, if not better. But you have to have this one up there with those. All three very nice blocks, to say otherwise is tragic to the game of basketball.

Regardless of who was blocking who we don't see blocks like that every game. It was entertaining block. I've seen more hate than hype about it if we're going to be real.

There's ONE reason why this block was talked about past the next possession: LeBron is the one who made the block. Everything else about it was pretty routine, IMO.
