Gas Prices

Featured Replies

So what is the excuse being talked about now as to why gas prices have looked at $ 4.00 per gallon in the eye and ran right on by. This is becoming an absolute joke and someone is certainly benefitting from the gouging that is going on. Natural disaster after natural disaster and price keeps going on up. Something needs to be done about this as gas price rises 25 cents at a time and goes down maybe a dime and then goes right back up.

Haven't been anywhere near $4.00 in NKY recently....

Well do not be surprised when you drive home this evening.

The refineries are at their lowest level of production over the last few weeks since 2008.

And gas is $ 3.07 in Myrtle Beach and over $ 4.00 here. Does not make sense to me. Production may be low, but I thought there was more than enough in the reserve pools.

USA will have more oil than Saudi Arabia in 10 years. It's not an oil prob and NEVER has been, it's a greed prob. Why have $10 dollar oil when you can have $100? Why make millions when you can make billions? Who are we to stop companies, cartels and people from making billions? Capitalism gotta love it!

Just checked....Highest in a 10 mile radius of where I live in NKY is $3.87

$3.99 in French Lick today. Over in New Salisbury, ~40 miles away, it's $3.55. And ~15 miles away from there, in Georgetown, it's $3.69.

And about 20 miles southeast from New Salisbury, in Brandenburg, it'$3.39.

And in my Louisville neighborhood, it's $3.89.

After years of research the greedy people/organizations, cartels, have found $4 is the breaking point so they will keep it near or at that. Plenty of new SUVs and trucks on the road.

$4.15 in Middletown

Generally there are 4 components of the price: wholesale cost to the station, taxes, delivery cost, and local competition.

How is the wholesale dramatically off?

Not sure. Why do you assume it's just the wholesale vs the other 3 components?

It was selling on the stock market today for $2.85 a gallon.
