Which is the point of my first post....They don't want jobs, that's why they're gang bangers. If they cared to work, they'd have went to school or got a job and worked their way up. I'm just saying let's not paint it as the "big bad corporations" are the cause of the problem. It's not their problem, and they shouldn't have to bail out the uneducated scum of society.

Those investments need returns also. I get what you are saying, but building a widget factory in the ghetto will not cure these types of problems.

Didn't say there was a magic bullet to kill institutional, generational poverty. A long-term problem needs a long-term solution, and in this world of instant gratification, there's no patience for a long-term solution that doesn't show immediate results.

 

But you've gotta start somewhere. You can't just write off a whole race of people as lost causes.

Considering how much it depends on cheap imports, that would create a whole new huge problem for the economy. I could see inflation going sky high, at least for a time.

 

It's a really tough problem that fixing one aspect will cause all new problems. I wish someone could come up with the answers.

I agree.

I know RICO has been used against Outlaw Biker crews and against some inner city street gangs. Problem is a lot of street gangs don't have official chain of command and it is harder to cut the head off of those groups by using RICO to go after leaders as lot of them don't have a defacto leader.

The senator's solution is stupid if actually was a proposal, but how does the Congressman get away with his slam of "upper middle-class white boy"....I don't find that acceptable either.
