After averaging 8.4 rpg this weekend and helping lead his team to a Peach Jam berth, Jackson Davis picked up a Texas Tech offer today.

Congrats to the big fella. Expecting a big Sr season from him.

Good for him. I have enjoyed watching him play the few times I have been able to see him play since his freshman year.

This is his first offer to my knowledge. I was talking to him and his dad at the state tourney this year. I asked what offers he had, they told me none at that time. I was so shocked. I would not have asked if I had known he didn't have any. Again I was shocked. Hopefuly more are to come.

I really like the Texas Tech campus. I wish the young man luck. Good for him!

Take it from someone whose lived in Texas-- Tech fans are ROWDY.

Heck, rowdy might even be the understatement of the year. Normally wouldn't post something like that, but living here, I can tell you that it's something they are actually proud of.

It seems like as soon as one school offers, the rest start coming soon after. Almost like coaches are afraid to take the first step unless they know other coaches around the same program level are also interested.

Domino effect...happens all the time.

Looking forward to seeing Jackson at the Peach Jam. DIdn't get to see him at Boo Williams because of the injury.

Put me in the same camp as surprised this is his first offer. KId is bigger than low major D1 and I'm shocked none of those schools have offered yet. I'd say the injury at the beginning of the EYBL season is the reason for lack of offers.

He has played AAU since like the 8th grade, so he has had alot of exposure. Like I said, I was shocked. If I had known I wouldn't have asked. You would have thought that at least some mid-major would have already offered. He is a great kid, good family and good student. I am still scratching my head over this one.

Glad Tubby made the first offer.

The kid gets boards.

He's looooooooong.

Good deal for Davis. I have been following his career since he was a freshman. Very nice, big player. I hope he continues to progress and get more offers like this, or likes this offer and takes it. Always good to hear about hard-working kids getting the opportunity to take the next step.

Any word how he's doing offensively for the Travelers?

My guess is he's averaging 8-10 ppg...had a 16 pt game over the weekend
