Highlands and St.Henry played once this year. St.Henry 7 Highlands 3. Should be a wide open tournament.

For the Birds I would say the following.

 

Q Murray- Sr Catcher and leader.

Joey Cochran- Pitcher

Jakey Whitford- Soph SS- Smooth as silk and has some pop in his bat.

Mitchell Jones - Soph starter who was on the mound in last year's REgional final

Todd Ramey- Soph big stick who has come on strong this year with the bat from what I have read on here.

 

I am probably leaving something out here and JPa can probably give us a better account since he is at all the games.

 

They return a ton of experience with Allen, Heck, Schultz as well.

I would say the Highlands vs SH matchup is very interesting for Highlands choice of pitching.

For SH, no doubt they have to throw their #1

If St. Henry is throwing Kuebbing, if the Birds hold back their top pitcher it is a bad move no matter what happens in that game.

I do not think any of the teams wanted to get St.H because you know you get Kuebbing. I'm with TOG.

Would expect to see SO Jones on the bump since JR Cochran pitched on THU against NewCath. Both pitched, along with SR Schultz, in last year's regional. Schultz is a wild card. Injury prevented him from doing anything other than DH for several weeks during season. He is back at 3B and arm strength is not an issue. He has pitched once since returning with good velocity but a bit rusty, understandably. He has experience and if he could provide an inning or 2 if needed, would be a huge boost.

 

Only Ramey, Seidl and Collinsworth were not in the same position last year and figure to contribute during this run. Experience means something from the turf to the situation to the preparation that goes into it.

 

Formula is simple for the Dirty Birds over the past 2 years - throw strikes, play good defense and produce enough runs to win in whatever way possible. If that is small ball, so be it. If it is a huge HR and some drives to the gaps, so be it.
