Edit.

Changed my mind on this post. Don't want to make the thread about gun control.

It works for the British, but given our much more "wild west" sort of culture it wouldn't work, though I wish we could have that kind of policing.

The statistics say it does not work for the British. The have a much higher assault and property crime rate and higher home invasion rate than the US. It is a myth that the unarmed Brits have low crime. The have less gun murders. But most other crimes are much higher per capita.

Very similar to Ft. Hood. Soldiers killed on their soil because they are not allowed to be armed.

I went to the link on the yahoo home page and they offered a disclaimer before it ran.

No more CNN in the morning for me. You are correct - my son watches CNN alot and said they did put a warning on.

Not even close. I'm not blaming them for anything. Someone said they had to wait to apprehend the suspect until armed law enforcement showed up. I simply said law enforcement should be armed.

My comments that law enforcement need to be armed has nothing, I repeat NOTHING, to do with this specific incident. This thread happened to be where it was brought up that British LE is not armed, which I think is about the most ignorant thing I've ever heard, thus I said they should be.
BUT, in your first post listed you claim you are not blaming British LE? But you say what is in bold?

I don't think he's blaming them for anything. He's saying their government should allow them to carry a firearm. I think.

How about a discussion about another Muslim Terror attack...what can be done? what needs to be done?

How about a discussion about another Muslim Terror attack...what can be done? what needs to be done?

Would it be considered a terror attack if the guy didn't say he was Muslim?

Moot point, the guy proclaimed on TV while holding the bloody knife and clever that he was a Muslim and that this would not be the last attack.

If he had said the same things that he said while mentioning nothing about being Muslim, yes it would still be terrorism.

The pure nature of the crime (an attack on a British Soldier in broad day light)was to terrorize, whether he said a word or not.

Moot point, the guy proclaimed on TV while holding the bloody knife and clever that he was a Muslim and that this would not be the last attack.

I'm not saying the guy wasn't Muslim, but you asked how to respond to the attack. I'm asking if we should respond to it differently based on his religion.

If it is considered "terrorism" then by definition it is wider than this individual. Was this isolated? Or is there a larger group at work seeking to attack British soldiers?

We respond to it based on where the attack is coming from, in this case Muslim radicals that have hijacked their own religion.

The guy stated in the video that I saw on TV that this would not be the last attack which would suggest that it was not isolated. As he had to know by just hanging around that he would either be caught or captured and others would have to carry on.

Back to my question, Radical Muslims are committing acts of terror around the world. What can and should be done?

We respond to it based on where the attack is coming from, in this case Muslim radicals that have hijacked their own religion.

Sure, we have radicals, but what is do be done based on this case? Is this a lone wolf guy who has gone crazy? Does he belong to a larger cell that has a goal in mind? I'm asking the question you are, what is to be done?

Don't know the make up of his organization. What I am asking in a bigger scope what can be done about Radical Muslim terrorism.
