Like Adopted Purple and a few others, my allegience is with the Purples. I have watched BGHS for many years (proud Alumn). Nacarius Fant has to be one of the best, if not the best, we have had to wear Purple and Gold. I know he is a three star but curious to know why he is not a four star. Remember, there has been atleast 10 games in the past two regular seasons that he has not played in the mid 3rd quarter and all of the 4th quarter due to blowouts. If Nacarius played the entire game of every game over the past two seasons his numbers would rival any numbers for a receiver in America. I am aware of his size and what some would consider not fast enough (40 is around 4.6) but his football speed and talent is off charts. Best hands I have ever seen at High School level. If he touches the ball he catches the ball; ask St. X.

 

If there is a better threat in the bluegrass for a "big play" I would like to see him. I have much respect for the big boys (Trinity, FTH...) I wish we could play this year. Again, I know I am a bit bias but if anyone sees Nacarius do his thing, you would have to agree that the kid is very special.

Fant definitely has the best hands I have ever seen for a high school player. I haven't seen a better wide receiver in many many years. He also runs the Wildcat very well. If they give him a chance, he could play for any college team out there. He's a great punt returner, also.

After watching Fant up close in the State Championship game I have to agree with what has been said on here about him. I've seen several very good players last year including Timmons, Fogle etc. Fant without a doubt was the best receiver I've seen.

 

He may not have 4.3 speed, but as was mentioned on here already, he deffinatley has the quickness and speed to get seperation and has great hands. I think he's got to be the best WR in the state this year no doubt.

I've seen him play twice and he has never disappointed. Just a complete joy to watch.

Unfortunately, on field performance has little to no impact on how a scout or rivals ranks a kid. Its all about camp performance, and what camps they attend. If indeed this kid went to a camp and ran a 4.6, and is not 6'3, you answered your own question about why the 3 stars. All that means is some coach will be deemed a great developer of talent if he shines at the next level.

Fant already has offers from UK, UL, WKU, Illinois and a couple of others. It's not like he isn't getting attention. He will definitely get a chance to shine at the next level. He went to the Under Armour camp last year and will probably attend again this year. Ohio State, Purdue and WKU came and talked to him at Spring Practice. Whoever gets him will be getting one of the most dynamic players I have ever seen.

Anything is possible but it will be a tough road for the Jags if it happens. Heavily depleted by Srs. but the skill postions are very solid. O-line is the biggest question. I'm sure they would love another crack at that great team that returns nearly everyone and is hands down the favorite in 5A but would love to see a game with no turnovers on the first two offensive plays. Fant is a best the receiver returning IMO this year in the State.

I'm not sure how up to date my info is but I am only seeing Illinois and WKU as his offers. Is this outdated info?

Does anyone know his vertical numbers? In the two games I have seen him play his ability to out jump defensive backs has made him seem taller than the 5'10-11" that he is listed at. He catches the ball at the highest point possible and with his hands it is a beautiful thing to watch.

I know this kid is on UK's radar. No offer yet as they are in with some highly-rated receivers.

I once had a D1 coach tell me, "If you can run a 4.7 40, I want you". Again, one reason I hate 40 times.

40 times can become much better with training. Just got back from a recruiting visit where the coach told my son and 2 others who were there visiting that he can turn a 4.9 into a 4.5 before he is done with you.

 

4.7 isn't bad, and I agree he did look a lot faster on the field.
