The 2013 Kentucky Derby

Featured Replies

There was a horse running stride for stride with Orb at the head of the stretch that got pinched as Orb drifted in and another horse drifted out. It looked like that horse finished around 6th. Does anyone know what horse that was?

I think that was Will Take Charge. They were running 5-6 before Orb shot to first and Will Take Charge dropped to 8th.

Love the derby and hate that OTB in Maysville is closing up shop.

I had Revolutionary across the board only ticket I cashed all day; just missed an

exacta on the first race I bet Saturday.

Had a GREAT Oaks/Derby weekend! We went up Friday for the Oaks. We had tickets in both the 1st Floor Clubhouse and the 4th Floor Jockey Club Suites. My wife had the winner in the Oaks for $10 WPS, so that helped out!

Friday night we attended a couple of cool events. First we went to Unbridled Eve at the Galt House. Very nice event that helped out a great cause (Blessings in a Backpack). Highlight of that event was seeing Luke Bryan perform.

Next, we hit up the Maxim/Maker's 46 Party at the Mellwood Arts Center. You can never go wrong with free Maker's Mark! Sat next to Julius Erving in the VIP section. Also saw Aaron Rodgers, Scottie Pippin, and Shaquille O'neill.

Saturday, we sat in the Jockey Club Suites again, thank goodness. Although I didn't have Orb, it was a big day. In fact, the Derby was the only race I didn't have the winner. Hit the late Daily Double in the 12th and 13th, which paid $60ish.

Great weekend. This made our 10th straight Derby and I hope we get to go for many more! We love it!
