May 5, 201313 yr ^tOSU rings say champions... It's what Urban wants the rings to look like every year.
May 5, 201313 yr FSU got rings after their 9-4 season a year ago. The Buckeyes were easily the best team in the Big Ten. They were the real champions of the league. Any other year they would have played for a national championship.

May 6, 201313 yr Had OSU claimed some kind of championship by issuing the rings then I would be blasting them myself. With that said, I have no problem with or without the rings. All that was honored was an unbeaten season in a year that the players had no championship to play for. The ones there stuck it out and dedicated the season just to the satisfaction of knowing that they went out everyday , worked hard knowing 12-0 or 0-12 they would go to the same level of post season....none. OSU was on probation, should have been and to my knowledge were not protesting /saying that "we should be champs" like some other teams have done. The Buckeyes had a different coach and the main player mentioned in all allegations was gone. So, if some want to make jokes, fun of it then by all means knock yourself out. Should the Buckeyes go unbeaten again and get the chance to play for yet another Big10, National Title then they (and myself) will be the ones laughing at all the whiners. So....what are they proclaiming by putting Champions?

May 6, 201313 yr Sure is nice not having a hater and someone else understands football in the OSU threads. Come back soon. I don't see what some people's fuss is. A lot of teams get rings after the season. OSU was the only major D1 team that was undefeated. For the sake of those not involved in the scandal I see nothing wrong with what they did. :thumb:

If you bring 5k to a local jeweler he will make you a ring with anything you want on it.
May 6, 201313 yr Not hate, just curious why it says champions. They were regular season Champions of the Big Ten Leaders Division. They had a post season ban, not a regular season ban.
May 6, 201313 yr Can OSU's football budget absorb this type of expenditure? Sure, they just sold game worn jerseys to cover the expense
May 6, 201313 yr I'm a Champion!!! I don't really care what they say, I just like giving Buckeye friends a hard time.

While I agree all that says is that the program isn't as big as the fans want it to be and that the coach clearly makes a world of difference. Now with that said and as a die hard UK fan, the same could be said about UK comparatively.
