Glad you mentioned Suchaneks name in this, he is the one who stole home for the win and pitched one heck of a game. He seems to get overlooked by those that just want to glamorize the freshmen phenoms. Both Combs and Stringer are very good players, hopefully destined to be great at some point, but without Suchanek this BW team would not be nearly as successful as they have been thus far, would just like to see the kid get his due. Stringers was a bomb, but it was to left center, not sure anyone has ever hit one out at BW to straight away center, not even Berger.
quickslick
Actually.....Berger hit one over the trees in center before they even had a fence!
Crosley
From what I understand, Jason Suchanek pitched a complete game for the win. I believe that marks his third win of the season, but I would have to check that. I know for sure that is his second complete game win of the season. In the third one, he went 6 1/3. I think Tiberi was lifted in the sixth but pitched well. Also, on that his steal to win the game -- it was a straight steal. Gutsy move in the bottom of the seventh with two outs. This was a good game by both teams but I need to say that the HC coaching staff and their love of the bunt hurt their chances of winning. I'm thinking that went to a bunting seminar and feel they need to get their money's worth from it. Good game all around by both teams.
Dingerbird
Suchanek has started varsity since 8th grade, Say what??????? hard to believe, not the 1st underclassman to play for Beechwood. Kid competes with success. BW is on the move.
Redzone7
That straight steal of home by Jason Suchanek was an exciting play and caught everyone off guard. Bases loaded, two outs, tied game and he timed the pitcher's windup perfectly and stole home. One of the more unusual and exciting finishes to a game. You just don't see that play often. That does sound like an exciting ending. Should we assume it was called by the coach?

I assume the same thing Clyde, gutsy move by Mullins in a district game if in fact it was his call

HC coaching staff lost this game. Anyone at the game had to see that the calls made by the staff were ridiculous. Was a great game thou
History
Should not have been a choice. HC coaching staff lost this game. Anyone at the game had to see that the calls made by the staff were ridiculous. Was a great game thou I don't agree with this. 2 very good coaches. HC's execution was off on the bunts, and don't forget Beechwood' s first run scored with two outs and runners on first and third when the catcher threw through to second base allowing the base runner on third to score. Kid competes with success. BW is on the move. Not quite. I know he's been in the program since 7th grade and he played a great deal,of JV as an 8th grader, but he didn't start varsity as an 8th grader. Nevertheless, he is a great athlete. More importantly, he works harder than any kid I know.
