Cooper 4 Covington Catholic 1

Featured Replies

The two teams played and there can only be 1 winner and conrats to the winner. They play again Saturday and the outcome can be very different and CCH could get the win. It's a baseball game and walks, hits, errors are all part of the game. The winner is the team that scores more runs than the other team wether it's from walks, errors or hits.

We all know TOG is a huge CCH supporter just as eveyone knows I'm a huge Cooper supporter, neither one of us likes when our teams lose and sometimes I will also toss out what I think could of been the cause of poor play etc. Doesn't make it an excuse, just stating what went on during the game. To tell you the truth, I don't think anyone was real happy with the plate ump last night which led to very odd strike zone many times....but it is what it is, didn't favor one team over another, just baseball as usual.

I agree Clyde, no sensitivity here just tired of TOG. I think TOG has rubbed too many people the wrong way, and as a freedom of speech, some are just giving it back to him. I may be wrong, but even when he credits an opposing team he seems to find a way to divert the attention back to CCH with lame excuses or unnecessary praises to overshadow the thread topic of a CCH loss.

Maybe on occasion, but I have also seen the guy ripped by CCH fans for being too honest and critical of CCH players and their mistakes. Keep something in mind - he's a CCH fan first, foremost, and always - and a lot of his comments will therefore obviously emphasize the positive side of CCH. Not too different than many of us on here that support our respective school. At the end of the day, the guy has made countless favorable comments about a countless number of NKY players through the years. Sometimes you just have to smile about his excessively "pro-CCH" remarks. (All of which would be forgiven, btw, if they were "pro-Ryle" remarks ). Keep on typing, TOG!

Clyde, Cooper, punttheball you to VOR and not forgetting my HC guy Bnut 24 I want to thank you all for the kind words but I am done posting stats and such for the games on-line at BGP's.

Yesterday was my last game that I will be posting which will make my wife very happy, as she is tired of me coming home from games at 8pm, sitting down in front of my book finishing the stats and then posting then to the Enquirer SID page then posting them to BGP's.

It's far too much work for the grief I take from some expressing my opinion about the games and showing the facts of the game, just not what I think happened by giving the game stats out.

BTW I am not the only one as others have spoken to me and I to them, about no longer posting the information we post as it is just too much work and too much grief in return.

I will try to figure out how to post someplace, like maybe the CovCath Parents Picture web page the stats so the CovCath players parents can view them but for now.....

It has been fun since 2005 but the fun has been taken out of it for me. I will still be at the games and I will be still be doing the stats for CovCath and like I said, I try to find a way to get them to our Parents but........

BTW I did make a mistake, in the seventh inning it was Nate Bailey who got the 1b hit. I have it posted correctly in my book and if you look in the CovCath hitting you will see Bailey with a PH single but I typed in the wrong name in the summary of the innings. Sorry Nate!

Sorry to hear that TOG, but I completely understand, hopefully by the time football rolls around you will post the stats from those games.

Say it isn't so TOG...........The Parent's site is all yours Brother..........If you have any problems with access or need me to add another tab to it, just say the word.

FYI.......in your original post on this one I especially like the way your started out......."First congrats to Cooper on the win and indeed Dunn was very good today" Sounds complimentary to Cooper to me.

PS....you've already earned honorary "All Universe" status on the parents site before your first post !!!

I will add that the Cooper posters on BGP seem to have a bit of an inferiority complex with heightened sensitivity.

This post makes me laugh, especially now.

TOG, do yourself and everyone a favor - take a break from posting for few games, relax with the bride, recharge your batteries . . . . . . and come back in a week your usual self. It's really not a big deal. A couple of people disagreed with you - so what? Let them. Life goes on. You're a baseball guy and a good guy and if doing the stats and posting is important to you and you enjoy it, then do it. There are A LOT of people that enjoy your posts. Maybe a couple that don't. So be it. Hope to see you posting again very soon and I look forward to running into you at a game soon.

TOG is a Covington Catholic Alumni and probably their biggest fan. He is posting on an internet blogsite that allows people to share their opinions. He is not writing articles for the local newspaper. If you are tired of reading his posts then simply skip over them.

should have known this post would end up this way, these two schools are the worse for excuses it don't matter what sport it is they complain about every call, foul, flag it don't matter what sport it is. Why don't they let varsity play jv and have four dads or moms umpire and see what happens, my guess friends will turn into enemys. When you loose you loose with pride and don't make excuses, and when you win you do the same, you can say should, could, would have done this and we wouldn't lost but we all know when the fat lady sings its over. Great game by Hunter Dunn, best of luck to both schools and QUIT YOUR CRYING!!!!!!!

Says the guy complaining about a coach leaving and having ill will towards kids because of it.

I see a lot of great detail and hardwork in his post. In fact I read his posts because I know i can see how the kids i know performed. All posts whether negative or positive, "praising" or denigrating, are "unnecessary". It's what we do here. Most of us here are impartial because we are fans first and reasonable people second. Sometimes it clouds judgement. I actually believe that TOG is one of better posters here in that regard.

I was looking forward to seeing his detail after the Beechwood-CCH games. I don't always agree with his posts, but always appreciate the effort and his knowledge.

TOG, keep it going. All around, CCH probably has the most successful sports program in NKY. That garners a lot of animosity which turns into unfounded criticism. I say ignore them and do what you want. At a minimum you have the support of most Colonel fans, but probably just as many fans of other teams.

Gmen.......there is a big difference, IMO. between "crying", as you put it, and reporting what your feel was the key to the game, A key to a game is something you can build on. If, in the first post, you didn't hear about the pitcher and just heard about the umps....then crying. That didn't happen. Also.....My "key to a game," as someone who really only been around HS baseball the past few years, doesn't nearly have the same weight to me as a "Key to a game" from someone that has been around HS Baseball and has decades of baseball in their memory banks. (Sorry if I'm dating you TOG)

You are kind of proving the "heightened sensitivity" comment. Not that I agree with it. IMHO.

CLYDE......I know where the spell check is.....is there a grammar check button? :idunno:

You still creating all kinds of turmoil on here, TOG?! :lol2: Too funny. Just keep doing what you're doing. You are a CCH "homer", no doubt about it, but you're a pretty fair guy and toss around a lot of compliments to a lot of people - both CCH players and their opponents. Keep up the good work. :thumb:

Couldn't agree more!

Are you also tired of all the other folks on here who do the same thing for their team in every sport??? Dang near every thread on here contains some variety of yea, we lost because of the refs, or umps... or, yea we lost, but Jimmy was hurt and did not play, or yea we lost but we had four guys on spring break....

Give me a break. DARN near everyone on here has an excuse when their team loses. Why do you feel the need to single out TOG for that. I can tell you why. It is because of your disdain for Cov Cath. Thats ok - lots of people hate Cov Cath, but fortunately Cov Cath does not need your love to be the school that it is.

You are getting tired of TOG, fine, but I bet there are plenty of guys getting tired of people like you taking over thread by poking at TOG instead of focusing on the game

TOG - I certainly respect and understand your decision, but wish it wasn't the decision you have reached! As was suggested above, take some time from it, and if you do miss doing it, I know I for one would welcome the return of you posting for fans like me who have trouble getting to games and such.

Tired? You've been a member since October, 150 posts.

TOG, how dare you compliment an opponent, congratulate the team, then give your fact-based assesment of your own team. Please follow FOM's lead on how things work on BGP.

TOG, the people that should matter, love what you do !
