Dunn didn't seem to throw many pitches last Saturday so he had rest. No way you throw Dunn versus Ryle or Conner in non-district game so the other option was throwing him Saturday versus Cov Cath.

 

Correct on Saturday's rematch probably being totally different as it will be Cooper's 6th game in 6 days even with today's off day so pitching will be something that Cov Cath should put in play so defense will have to be sharp. Collin's has an injury he's dealing with so he won't be pitching for a while, and won't be there Saturday. So while Cooper has a lot of pitchers, after current #2 or #3, it is more reliant on defense for sure.

I bet alot of kids would want you for a score keeper if that's what you thought were earned runs. I was watching from the hill through the first 4 and Dunn gave up 2 or 3 max earned runs. I saw 2 errors that led to that big inning which would have had them out of the inning before the big inning happend. HC deserved to win the game with that kind of play, but to tag Dunn with 7 ridiculous.

 

Ugly game for the Jags. As others said, if those were 7 earned runs then I want that scorekeeper for my team lol.

TOG, you are reaching here for sure. First off, I congratulated HC on the win but 2 very blatant errors that were not even in question was the results of those runs and he said it was the info someone gave him.

 

I wish I had a replay of the E9 in this game because I was obstructed by other fans on the first base side and only see the kid making a long run for it. There were Cov Cath fans saying it was a hit so I wasn't sure how it would be ruled. The paper had Collins with 2 hits and I think he was the one who hit that one but not sure.

I agree, Dunn looked as sharp as he did during the first game of the season. His velocity was way up and he had a nasty breaking ball working along with a nasty change up yesterday. It was a great way to bounce back from his game against St Henry.

 

One thing is for sure, when Dunn is on he may be the toughest pitcher in the region to face.

Actually Hellbird...He was lights out against St. Henry. I think you meant to say sub par outing against Holy Cross.:thumb: Even sub par he held the Indians in check for his brief stint. Think dad might have had a little sit down with him after that game!!!

I thought he was safe along with about 4 other CCH fans that were right behind the net.

 

The first pickoff play at first you talked about I thought he was out. The 2nd one though even though the 1st baseman was upset aand thought he tagged him out, he was actually safe, his reach was between the glove and leg to get back to the base and was never tagged.

 

The problem with those calls at 1st was the ump on both plays had bad angles (why I always felt they need 3 umps for varsity games). The plays at 3rd, I thought youngblood was safe, but the 3rd out at 3rd, I had a bad view of that play.

Both Pick off plays at 1st base that Blue called safe and both times our 1st baseman comes back hot saying he tagged the runner out. One was the pick off from the pitcher and the 2nd was from the catcher.

 

The 5U fc in the 3rd honestly and truthfully was a blown call. Your third baseman missed the runner and even if he had tagged him he still had the ball in his hand not in his glove. The stolen base by Youngblood in the 7th was the correct call!, as was the last out to end the game!

First congrats to Cooper on the win and indeed Dunn was very good today but the name of the game was CovCath pitchers giving up 8 Base on Balls. You can't win a game on any level giving the other team 8 free trips to 1st base and indeed walking in 2 runs both of which were unearned.

Walks are not free trips. How about giving the batters the credit for having plate discipline! Once you're on 1st, you still have to work to get around the bags. Or better yet, how about let's blame CCH coaching staff for leaving a pitcher in to walk 8 batters. That's what a sore loser would do..:ohbrother:

I get tired of so many people feeling you have to be super duper nice to the winning team. Cooper did what they had to do. Great pitching vs CCH bad pitching. Simple as that.

I agree Clyde, no sensitivity here just tired of TOG. I think TOG has rubbed too many people the wrong way, and as a freedom of speech, some are just giving it back to him. I may be wrong, but even when he credits an opposing team he seems to find a way to divert the attention back to CCH with lame excuses or unnecessary praises to overshadow the thread topic of a CCH loss.

I will add that the Cooper posters on BGP seem to have a bit of an inferiority complex with heightened sensitivity.
